Replacement battery not working

Hi all,
Ive just purchased a "genuine" replacement battery for my LG G4 and when I insert the battery nothing happens.

There's no indication that any battery is inserted and even after leaving it charging (by lead) for an hour there's still no life and I can power it up.

Seller sent a replacement and that's exactly the same.

After closer inspection the only difference is the part number of the battery.

Original is
EAC62818401
Replacement is
EAC62818406

So, is it genuine and if so why doesn't is work in my UK LG G4?

My spare battery from LG is part # EAC62858501 AAC.

Does the # you received match what came in your phone?

No, as stated my original battery has the part number EAC62818401 and the replacement is EAC62818406.

I realise that it would be better to get an identical part number but I've noticed all different numbers but still the same battery code (BL-51YF)

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the original spare, and the replacement spare.

If you have a multimeter, you could try carefully checking for DC voltage across the +/- terminals of the spare battery. Do not short out the battery during the test, though! Don't let the probes touch each other.

Any idea why it won't work in an o2 LG G4?

Also, can anyone suggest somewhere I can get a replacement battery that will work?
