Replacement thunderbolt coming now!!

So, quick question to those of you who called vzw for a replacement device. Did you get your device insured, because I declined the insurance and I'm getting constant reboots/shutdowns even after a couple of factory resets.

Reboots are not an insurance issue. They are a warranty issue.

These reboots and warranty replacements will be my demise!! I am so fed up with this crap! I got a replacement and it has the reboots now even more than my first one and the vibrator is so weak it is impossible to feel in my case so I am calling for another one tomorrow. Do they follow the lemon law? A.K.A if I get a third one with the reboots I can change devices or get a brand new one? How did you get a charge androidxtc? Are you glad you switched?

i've heard of people getting 4 or more phone replacements. the problem is that many phone replacements are crap to begin with, but i digress. i told a rep that i was wondering, how come my thunderbolt with extended battery can barely make it one day with minimal use, while i've heard the charge make it two days with moderate usage on the stock battery. the csr basically offered me a charge, but i didn't take the offer since it doesn't have skype video. btw, if you do get a charge, it will be a clnr like your replacement tb's. though, since the charge came out recently, it is quite possible it will be a new phone, just not a guarantee.

The update file is supposed to be 22.8 mb The file that is being referenced as being the update is 34mb, however I got the impression it was fished out of the RUU not saved by someone who downloaded it.

Received my 3rd replacement today, it wouldnt get ANY dataconnection, so they had me send it back. I requested a INC 2, since i am not in a 4G area, and my original INC had no issues. (and i have only a one year contract on my Tbolt) . They are calling me back to let me know if they can.

Ok just received my replacement for GPS issues, I havent even started to complain about the random restarts. The issue that I am having is that neither phone will enter 3g, both are stuck in 1x. I live in a 3g only area and 5 miles to my west starts the Philadelphia 4g bubble. Getting ready to call Verizon on this. Very Confused.

Why is everyone sending in new Tbolts for refurbished models to correct a problem that was caused by the OTA. Wouldn't you rather wait for the update to fix the update? If it is a software issue why would replacing the hardware be a good idea?

I spoke to HTC on thursday last week. They told me that it was a Hardware issue and that the new phones have updated Hardware and were not experiencing the same Reboot problems....

I have my 3rd phone on the way....

Ugh, the replacement situation sounds like a nightmare. Sorry guys. I believe the reboots can and will be fixed by a software update. So I'm sticking with my original Bolt. At least for now.

It's because the certified like new process goes through a 100+ point inspection, but for the most part, it won't cover the issues that most thunderbolt users are having. that's why some people here have had several returned phones. in fact, my replacement phone had more issues than my original, so i just returned the replacement.

Yeah, the 100 point inspection is garbage. It goes like this:

1) Does the phone have a microphone hole?
2) Does the phone have a speaker grill?
3) Does the phone have a power button?
4) Does the phone have a volume up button?
5) Does the phone have a volume down button?
6) Is the power button damaged?
7) Does the power button depress easily?
8) Is the volume up button damaged?
9) Does the volume up buttom depress easily?
10) Does the volume down button damaged?
11) Does the volume down button depress easily?
12) Is the bottom left screw under the battery cover present?
13) Is the bottom left screw tight?
14) is the middle left screw under the battery cover present?
.............and on and on and on.

It's like when you go to Midas and they perform a 129 point inspection on your car...and it takes 90 seconds. It's a complete joke.

It would be VERY interesting if people took the time to track the serial numbers on these replacements. I guarantee everyone I have sent back got sent on to someone else, and everyone I was sent was first returned by someone else. We're all getting the same phones, just playing round robin. That's why I finally demanded a brand new phone...and it's perfect.

I run my business on my phone, I can't have it rebooting 10 or 12 times per day. Dropping calls would be one thing, but reboots...you can't even call back for a couple of minutes while it turns back on!

I was on hold with the IRS for 2 hours and 5 minutes. The lady answers the phone, and within 2 minutes of us talking the POS rebooted. I nearly smashed it to a million bits. Honestly, I would have been money ahead to just pay my ETF's on all four lines and move to a different carrier. I spent so much time trying to get a competent replacement it was crazy.

I finally got a brand new one though, without the update installed, and it works fabulously. They even let me keep my old one, though I think I'm going to just keep it around for my kids to play with. I couldn't, in good faith, sell that phone to anyone. It is nothing but trouble!

did you have to sign a new contract to get the new tb?

I use my phone for business also. It is not a good situation when you frequently have to wait 3 minutes to call back a conference call line after a reboot. (especially when the line beeps when you drop the call and dial back in...no hiding on con calls)

If it were a hardier issue then ALL of us would have it, clearly that's not the case but you do bring up an interesting question which I am about to make a poll about: what hardware revision is your TBolt?
