Replacing a locked logic board into an unlocked phone

Hey all,

I have a Unlocked motorola G2 that the charging port melted on.

I was thinking of getting a locked phone on ebay and replacing the logic board.

If I do this would I then basicly be locking my unlocked phone?

Is so what's involved with unlocking?

Alternatively, perhaps I should think about resoldering a new usb port ? i'm not sure if I can do this as it looks fused atm, but perhaps one of you might know

Someone with a fine soldering iron could possibly replace the port, however the short circuit would have damaged something on the board almost certainly. Replacing the board may be problematic, if if the donor device was locked could be issues with imei numbers etc... Might be amusing to tinker tho. New phone not an option?

Ive already purchased new phone, however I was intending to give the phone away if I could get it working again for ~$25
