So i bought my bionic off craigslist. The guy pretty much just got it to sell it. My question is I have issues with it will verizon still replace it for me? As I swapped my tbolt numerous times due to issues... hoping they will do the same if I have issues on the bionic. anyone know?

If you activated it brand new, I dont know why not. I know I bought my X this way, and since it had not been activated I was able to add insurance to it. I never had any issues, so I dont know how Verizon would be, but it would be the same as telling them that your "friend" bought it for you full price as a gift. From my understanding the warranty is only voided once it has been activated and then redistributed. My two cents...

In my experience no
I did the same thing, but was able to to fix my phone (with son developers help here) after being told no by Verizon

The phone, not the owner, has a 1 yr warranty. Verizon may say no, but Motorola has to honor that warranty.

You will have a manufacturers warranty for a year. If it came brand new with the box, you should have a product warranty brochure inside it.

ok lots of answers so whats the final verdict?

i work for big red, and if you bought your phone from anyone other than verizon or any reseller, verizon will NOT cover the phone if defective.

the warranty is only covered on the purchasing account. Once it activates on another account, the warranty will be void.

assuming it was already activated, which I doubt it was.

My question is, why didn't you purchase the phone directly from Verizon? Did you get it cheaper than what was offered at the store? Or, was your eligibility to upgrade too far out you couldn't wait? I'm just trying to understand buying the Bionic from someone CL....

That's weird. I bought my X third party and when I upgraded to GB I had issues with the wifi not working. Called up tech support and they kept trying to send me a new one.
