Replacing Screen Security Issue?

I have the VZW total equipment coverage on my Note 9. The phone has some burn in from homescreen that is only noticeable with white background. Anyway since I have coverage I was thinking of having my screen replaced.

I don't know where VZW sends people for this work?

Anyway I have fingerprint and pin set in my phone. Is that adequate security to allow phone out of my hands or do I need to do a factory reset before handing over my phone to have screen replaced?

Thanks!

I had my cracled screen replaced on the Note 10+ and they needed pin code to get in and they didn't need reset it to work on it. That was at UbreakIfix.

Were you comfortable giving it to them? I'd be going to the same place.

I have so many. May as well do a factory reset. Verizon total equipment coverage may not cover burn in anyway. I'm not.paying if they don't.

Burn in isn't always covered under normal warranty. I'm not sure if its considered accidental damage but if the screen was cracked with burn in I would think that would be covered. How much is the deductible?

I'm afraid you are right. I've read of previous cases in which Asurion will not cover burn in because it isn covered under factory warranty. All VZW does is send you to Asurion apparently. Unless at some later time I accidently break my screen I'm out if luck. I'll just live with it. It's annoying but phone works fine. I'm in dark mode so I seldom see the damage. It's obvious with a white background. I have never cracked a screen in all the years I've owned phones so I will likely just use the N9 until it has no value which is probably just one more year.

I wonder if anyone else with a Samsung phone and Verizon Wireless total equipment coverage has had any luck getting a phone with burn in repaired?

VZW sent me to ubreakifix for new screen. I have to do a factory data reset because I have client data on device. I hope it isn't ubreakImakeWorse.

Wish me luck!

Sitting in their parking lot hoping NOT to have a repair horror story.

So supposedly when you get a new screen for a note9 you get a new battery. Battery app rates my battery at only 96% of predicted capacity. Is there any way I could tell using software alone if the battery has been replaced?

I believe the display replacement involves the battery being replaced. They did on my Note 10+. I could tell because I gave it to them full battery and the new battery was less than half full. That had to run diagnostics for about an hour but it should not half been as empty.

I also gave them a full battery and it came back at 32% after hours and hours of running a failed diagnostic that had something to do with my spen which works fine
It is a replacement spen.

Could be it was an old new battery. My phone when new had a battery at 98% capacity.

I thought you were referring to your old battery at 96%
You can't go by those apps. It would have to calibrate to your new battery before you get a good reading but I don't trust those apps anyway.

My Note 9 has never been drained that low on the old battery nor the new one
