Is there any way to start a reply email, then switch to another program to copy text, then return to the reply email and paste the copy into the reply email?

Everytime I start a reply email, then switch to another program, and then hold down the home button to return to my reply email it is lost, and I have to start it all over again.

What kind of phone? And are you using GMail or the normal EMail? It's working ok for me in either case. I click reply, hold down the Home button and switch to messaging for example, hold the Home button again and switch back to Email (or GMail) and my draft is still there.

I'm using a Droid Pro. And that doesn't work for me at all. I hold down the home button, and the email is gone.

And I've had the problem in both apps.

I do this all the time, but it is not as easy as jumping back into the same place where you left off in the message. When you switch apps, the message is saved as a draft. When switching back to Gmail, I have to click the menu, go to View Labels, and then choose Drafts from there. I can then open up the message and paste in the copied text.

It would be nice to be able to switch back and forth directly into the message, but at least it does save what you have written already.

One thing I do notice is that if I have the message open, then hold the Home button down to get information, copy, then press the back button, the app I went into will close and I'll be back in the message where I left off. As long as I am pressing the Back button to return to the message, it works. If I hold the Home button down to switch apps, it loses its place.
