Request for information

When I plug my LG g4 into an auto power outlet with a generic adapter
I get a notification buzz and the screen turns on every couple of minutes.
No other indication of what it is about.
Any thoughts?

Are you sure it's charging or that the generic adapter isn't loose? Does it do the same with other devices? Sounds like the connector is connecting/disconnecting, which would cause the screen to turn on and the device to buzz every time it starts receiving power again (as if you just connected it).

Or possibly the adapter is shutting down and restarting, causing the behavior.

Again , many thanks. Good thoughts that I will follow up on. As you both thought, I suspect that the adapter (which came from Dollar General) is at fault.

Best way to test that is to use it in a different phone.
