Reservations for preorders now available

Not sure if this is a new thing or not, but I got an alert from the shop Samsung app to reserve an opportunity to pre order the note 10. Also looks like it will be released August 23rd

Decisions, decisions! Personally, I'd choose Samsung. Less for you to pay and buying unlocked means less carrier bloatware and no monthly payment plan annoyances!

I reserved one yesterday. I've never pre-ordered before, so I'm looking forward to joining the anxiety on the forums once this thing is formally announced and starts shipping. Just hoping the process goes smoothly.

I love reading the posts leading up to the launch and delivery of the latest phone, it's awesome! People get way too involved and its like an emotional rollercoaser for some. I have been there and usually get the phone last of all lol.

Even if buying through Samsung, I wouldn't buy an unlocked one. Slower updates and potentially less features with some carriers like AT&T (no Wi-Fi calling from what I understand). Not worth it, especially since I'm never going to switch carriers and even if I did, Verizon phones (who I'm currently with) get unlocked after like a couple of months anyway. If Samsung didn't treat unlocked customers like second class citizens, it would be great.

Right?!?! I love it. I've noticed BB and Samsung usually have the best pre-order incentives, so I'll try it out this year. Can't wait to watch the launch on the 7th so we REALLY know what we're getting!

Yeah, and I mean you can still buy through Samsung, just buy the carrier version. But there's no perks to the unlocked unless you switch carriers a lot.

I Pre-pre-ordered mine. I will be going with the carrier version. Although i might go unlocked but not like im going anywhere. Can't wait. I hope it's worth it. The 9 wasnt really worth the upgrade from the 8. I was tempted by the S10 though so heres hoping.

i know alot of the specs have leaked already, and most of them will turn out to be true. but there is the OS which we will not see until launch, new One UI? the capabilities of the S-pen, will not be known till launch, so what if you guys who pre-pre-ordered are disappointed?? is there a cancel pre-order button or something

It's a reservation for preorder. I want to say I read that the actual preorders are supposed to open up a couple of days after the launch event. Not sure if that's valid, but either way you're not committed at this point. The only potential benefit I'm seeing at this point is the $50 Samsung store credit, but I can't be sure that won't be available to those who preorder but don't reserve. Either way, can't hurt to reserve a spot to preorder, even if it may be meaningless.

Pre-orders for Samsung flagships always seem to begin at midnight on the day of the Unpacked event. Most will pre-order the next days, but some wait up and do it. Usually carrier pre-order pages are live by midnight. Others order by phone or social media.

If the past is any indication, look for pre-orders to start at midnight on Aug. 7 (12 AM on Aug. 8) with ship dates scheduled for Aug. 23. Usually that means it'll be in stores on Aug. 23 but there's a chance your pre-ordered phone arrives a day or two earlier.
