Reservations for preorders now available

If the past is any indication, look for pre-orders to start at midnight on Aug. 7 (12 AM on Aug. 8) with ship dates scheduled for Aug. 23. Usually that means it'll be in stores on Aug. 23 but there's a chance your pre-ordered phone arrives a day or two earlier.

And also a chance that your pre-ordered phone will arrive days AFTER its in stores. Oh the drama. There's nothing like the minutes, hours, and days after the first person sees the charge or their cancel order button disappears. And the first actual tracking number? Time to get the popcorn😊 #funtimes

THIS would be a nice pre-order bonus bundle. It would take some of the sting out for those who aren't trading.

do you still get the preorder bonuses like buds etc. if you do it through the carrier? I don't really want to pay for all that upfront.

wait for the above post.... Samsung will only offer $300 as trade in value on a Note 8.

i wish i could get a Note 8 to buy now for $300

I THOUGHT you had to sign up to be notified when to register for the notification to pre-order!

Depending on your carrier they seem to be going for around the mid $300 range on swappa

Pre-orders for Samsung flagships always seem to begin at midnight on the day of the Unpacked event. Most will pre-order the next days, but some wait up and do it. Usually carrier pre-order pages are live by midnight. Others order by phone or social media.

On Verizon at least, the pre-orders for the Note9 didn't begin until 3 AM EDST last year. I did wait up for that and had the order timestamped by 3:05 AM EDST.

I suppose that's a possibility as well. Especially with pre-orders made later (eg. several days after pre-orders open) or with models that are produced in more limited quantities. I recall several flamingo pink S10 buyers got their phones a bit late. My 512GB prism white S10 arrived a day or two early. But I think some 128GB prism white (the base model) buyers got theirs shipped before everyone else.

I'll probably be doing my usual T-Mobile Jump On Demand pre-order, but I'll wait to see what Unpacked has in store exactly, including color and storage options.

Did it? I wasn't aware... it started at midnight ET for T-Mobile. Assumed it was the same for all carriers since the official pre-order date technically begins at midnight. I'm impressed you waited up til 3! Hopefully your Note9 experience didn't disappoint. I thought the phone was incredible, just wished it was closer to the Note7 or even Note8 in size. I'm looking forward to the smaller Note 10.

Yeah, some people spent weeks waiting for the flamingo pink. I think the worst was Best Buy; the irony! As for Unpacked, I'm already trying to figure out an errand I "need" to run for the office! My boss has a meeting 1 hour before it begins. I gotta get out of this office and watch!

Not sure if this is a new thing or not, but I got an alert from the shop Samsung app to reserve an opportunity to pre order the note 10. Also looks like it will be released August 23rd

This happened with the S10 and S10 Plus and it's nothing special. I think basically you get a notification that pre-orders are open. Some folks were confused and thought they already reserved a phone when in fact they did not and ended up not getting one on release day.

Did you receive your note 9 earlier than those who went to sleep and pre-ordered at like 7am the next morning? 🤪

I think that's hit or miss - more often than not, on this site, folks are getting their phones earlier than everyone else.

Fortunately I have a private office and can close my door. Of course it's likely I will be busy during the event, but if not I will watch! I got to see about half of the last Apple thing last month.

I rarely close my door; not even when I have lunch at my desk. AND my office is right next to the boss. I honestly don't think it would be a problem for me to watch it, but I get so excited. Lol... If I can't get out, I'll watch once I get home. I just want to watch LIVE :-)
