AC Question

Thank you for any help or ideas on this!

A friend of mine just sent me his old Kyocera C6742A phone. This was on AT&T as it comes up with their logo in the boot process. He got a new phone.

I want to use the old phone as a wireless toy around the house, not a phone.

My friend did nothing to prep the phone before sending it to me. He pulled his sim and memory card and put this in the mail to me.

So, now I have this phone that will not let me do anything. The power/volume down hard reset does not work. Once it is booted it wants a password to do anything, and my friend swears that he never had a password on the phone. I tried to have it email him the password from the forgot password screen, but the phone is not active, no sim and it is not on my wireless, so there is no way for it to contact google to send out the password request. Network unavailable pops up for a second when I try.

I have tried Kingo root. Any other ideas? I don't want anything on the phone, I just want to wipe it so I can put a few apps on it.

Thanks in advance!
