Reset data usage counter?

Is there a way to do this without impacting the system?

What are you trying to accomplish? Can you just change the date that the usage cycle resets? I can do that on my Nexus 5 bu tapping on the Data Usage Cycle dropdown (in the Settings>Data Usage​ screen), then tapping Change Cycle.

I never use the built in settings for watching my data usage instead I use my data manager which has loads of options and find it much better.
