Reset help please!

First up my main issue is that for about the last two weeks my tablet has been very laggy. All my apps take about three to five seconds to open. My youtube takes forever to open. I have to touch somethig about three or four times as though the screen isn't working. I've been doing some searching on how to fix this but i don't think it's the upgrade. I have the tab 3, 7.0" sm t210 and i have jellybean 4.1.2 . I don't know how to get any further upgrades because when i go in settings and try it says that I'm up to date.

Does the "hard reset" help? How do I do that and what's the difference between that and going into settings and going back to factory settings. Will anything help this lag problem?

Technically, lag problems should be fixed by a factory rest(hard reset) however back up the data you really need. Do not restore everything, because it would basically be useless. Re-install only the apps you need. If it still lags after the reset, then it could be a hardware problem.

1.Start the Settings app, found in the Apps Menu.

2.Choose Privacy.

3.Choose Factory Data Reset.

4.Touch the Reset Tablet button.

5.Touch the Erase Everything button to confirm.

Before a factory reset try clearing cache using a cache clearing app. Also try using an app called fast reboot which reboots the apps not the phone
