Resetting my S8: how long should I wait after changing my password?

Every year I change all my passwords on my important accounts. It may sound overkill but I'm a computer tech so I tend to be more careful that the average user ;-)

That being said two years ago I also reset my phone which triggered the device protection. So I was barred from my phone for 2 days.

So I was wondering how long should I wait before resetting my phone after changing my password? I know the lockdown has been changed to 24 hours but does that also mean I should wait 24 hours after changing my password before resetting or is it just the lockdown time?

Yes. (And, as you know, some sites make you wait longer. Google is being nice by shortening it to 24 hours.)

Yeah I know but the phone is a bit more 'dramatic' so to speak.

So just to make sure I understand your answer if I change my password now, tomorrow at the same time I can reset my phone and should not have any issue. Correct?

It's a bit late now, but yes, you should be able to use the new password now.
