Resetting phone

I am in a pickle of a situation. Earlier today, I tried to add a new ROM, AOSP specifically. I installed the custom recovery thing, I put the .zip file of the AOSP on the SD card, and from the recovery menu, I clicked "run zip from sd" or whatever. It successfully install, though thats what it said. When I rebooted the phone, it opened up to normal 2.2 android except everything was messed up. The market app wont open up along with a few others.

So, I try doing a reset to factory settings using the custom recovery thing (knowing if you have a custom ROM and you do a regular factory reset, you will get bricked), It worked, though the Home button wouldn't work. It was functional, though it would send me back to the home page.

Now, I am scared to do a regular factory reset that came originally with the phone settings. It shows that I do not have the custom ROM on, so I am thinking I am OK, but I am too scared.

Any thoughts?

What I mostly want to do is to just reset it to default factory mode with the original phone option. I don't know if it will get bricked or not.

I would just flash google apps and leave it alone. I will tell you you are lucky though. I tried same thing yesterday night and got stuck in a boot loop. I have literally spent all researching how to get it out. And now that I finally did it's stuck at the Sprint screen and I'm on Virgin Mobile XD. This forum is amazing though. MY suggestion would be to flash google apps and do more research before you jump in like I did.

if it's in recovery then you can connect with adb. Do a little reading or watch a video or two on how to set it up sdk. That way you could push the file... OR if I'm correct you're using ClockworkMod Recovery? Go to i believe... "mounts and storage" and at the bottom it will say mount usb mass storage. if this still doesn't work then uninstall/reinstall your lg usb drivers.

I have already done everything. Though my main stupid and annoying problem is that the phone wont connect to the computer anymore. It wont go into USB mass storage mode. Check my other thread for more info on that. I have android SDK installed already. I've spent hours trying to get the phone to connect.

Just recently, I tried disabling my driver instead of uninstalling it. To my amazement, I got mass storage to work.... for 40 seconds. And now, I am at scratch again.

I just tried what you said and I get the a "E: Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)" error.

I did a factory reset from default phone settings and now I am having the boot loop. FFFF'ing great. It keeps going back to the clockworkmod recovery. What should I do?

i did "[How-To] Unroot your phone and return to stock" but im stuck at sprint screen... theory works but find files for vm760 not ls670

I don't know how I am going to be able to do this as my phone does not for its life want to connect to my computer or laptop.
