Resetting to default destroys root?

My dink2 is rooted and works great. I want to give it to my son. How do I change the Google association from my Goog account to his?

I can add his account easily but I can't remove mine.

Does a factory reset destroy root?

No a factory reset doesn't destroy root.

Settings > Accounts & Sync > Google and then Remove Account.

And no a factory reset will not remove root from the phone.

Don't do a factory reset if you have a custom recovery on the device go into the recovery and wipe data wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache
