Any one has an idea how do i set manually 1280x390 resolution? I have an wide display with hdmi that has that resolution, but what ever i try on config.txt does not help.

Isn't this what the xrandr utility is for? Trying out supported resolutions "manually" .. ? Then (IIRC) there's a function to make the setting permanently.

Oh, I know there's been years since you asked the question, but sometimes silly things like this just won't resolve and thread creators' tend to look the other way.

I really hope this will help you, check the man(ual) pages for further reference, or drop me a PM.

To manually set 1280x390 on a Raspberry Pi, add this to config.txt:

hdmi_cvt=1280 390 60
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
Make sure you're editing /boot/config.txt and reboot after saving.

I Think Raspberry Pi can be picky with custom resolutions. Ensure your display supports the timing and try different refresh rates (like 30 or 50) if 60 doesn’t work.
