My HTC evo 4g died the other day. Before it quit working I unmounted the sd card and copied everything to a folder on my PC. I also have a backup of my phone from a month ago.

So now I have a samsung galaxy s4 and I want to restore my contacts. I can't seem to find the folder with that info and I do not have a google backup either. I thought lookout was backing up my contacts but that stopped happening at some point.

So, am I screwed? I thought for sure that the sd card would have the contacts backed up because I remember doing an export a few months ago.

Thanks for any ideas.

You won't because it's not in a folder it's in a database.

Look for a .vcf file.

In the future, make sure you enter ALL contacts as Google (or Account) contacts, and have Google sync turned on for contacts. Then they'll be in the Google Contacts page, and putting that account into a phone as your Google (not Gmail) account will sync your contacts to it.

Thanks, I was able to find the .vcf file. I forgot that I had switched out my sd card, so the file was on another card. So, should I just put in the old card and do an import?
