Restore from Smart Switch after factory reset

I backed up my AT&T S6 via Smart Switch on my laptop. I then did a factory reset, and a restore from my Smart Switch backup. I realize I needed to setup certain accounts again, and get all apps updated. After all of this, it's like I have to relearn how to use my phone. Maybe I was expecting Smart Switch to load my phone back to the way it 'looked' prior to the factory reset. I openly admit that I'm a novice at this sort of thing, but now this phone seems alien to me.

I studied many guides on this site before attempting a factory reset, but my experience did not follow along with how the guides explained. There is a previous thread related to my troubles; however, I do not have the ability to post links yet.

I guess I overestimated what a restore from Smart switch would accomplish.

I'm glad I use Google Photos, because the Smart Switch restore COMPLETELY screwed up the picture albums on my phone. Also, 90% of my contacts that had a picture now do not. My battery has been doing better for the past 2 days though.
