AC Question

Lost the Clock and Weather detail on the Home screen of my M9.
It was there when purchased 23 days ago.
Replaced by just apps but I would like that feature back.
How can I restore this?

Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

I don't hear a HTC, but if you are new to Android you can go to the Apps Drawer (list) with the bottom app button and find the Widgets tab, where you can find the widget (probably AccuWeather) and swipe it back to a homescreen.

However I think Android 5.0 Lollipop changed this so you may just have to press hold on a Homescreen space until it gives you options, including widgets, to select - so you can find it that way.

It probably disappeared by someone swiping the widget up to remove.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you also have an HTC One M9 like the OP?

If you have a phone where you can actually remove the Google search bar widget, then go through the process of adding the widget back. Long-press any empty part of the homescreen, select the Add Widget option, and look for the Google widget. Long-press the Google search bar widget, and drag and drop it back to the homescreen.

Re: Restore the clock/weather widget on the Home screen? (and Google Search Bar)

This has bugged me for a long time. Solved yesterday on Motorola G6 - may work on other makes/models.

Long press on home screen
Go to widgets.
Scroll down a long way.
First there is the full Google Search Bar - coloured icon + blue mic.
Drag to home screen.
Long press and then expand to desired width.
Scroll down further to find weather/clock.
Likewise, drag, locate and resize as appropriate.

Like taking a stone out of your shoe!
