Restoring Google Messages restores everything including Archived into Inbox

When I'm setting up the new phone and restoring Google Messages, it restores every single text I've ever archived, which is fine, but it restores it to the inbox. So now I have to select over 1000 messages to archive them again. Any way to just restore the messages in the inbox?

I've noticed that as well. I don't know of any way have it remember what was archived, sorry.:-\
