Restoring SMS.bak Backup? Which app?

I had to reset my HTC Android the other day as it went into a booting loop that nothing would solve, but to my surprise the reset removed all my SMS text messages.

I know that at 8pm every day I had an app backup all my SMS, and I have a folder on my phone's SD card of /sdcard/smsbackup that contains a day old 1.41 MB file called sms.bak with recent texts in, in a non-csv, SQL Lite format.

I am not sure if this file contains all my thousands of messages, but I would like to restore it to find out. Does anyone know how I might do this please as I cannot find a suitable app on my phone with have a restore option that works with that file, or that doesn't just backup only.

Backup to Gmail [gmail based**] (cpedia Mobile)
Another..?*

*Some of my apps were uninstalled when I restored so there is a chance whichever app it was may have been removed.. which would explain why I can't find it.

**None of the Gmail backups ever worked more than once, once that had created their folders they were never able to write to them again, so I don't have any Gmail backups.

If anyone can help me restore my SMS from this file or find out which app created the backup I would much appreciate it.

The app which is making the nightly backup of SMS is the one you need to restore if this functionality is enabled. Download those apps and see if you can remember which one is making the backup and look for a restore option.

I've tried downloading all the addition SMS backup apps I can find on the market but I still can't find the right one.. 8pm would have been the default backup time as I hadn't changed it, but the ones that remained installed don't appear to include the app I'm after.

Does anyone recognise the description/directory name please?
