[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

The E-mail program that comes with, I can't get the Signature to change, even though it shows the change in the settings, if I enable Signature, it is the default one. The second issue is haptic feedback in the Android Keyboard doesnt work, it does work with Swift just not the stock one.

TIA Ned
I had the same issue previously. Adrynalyne posted the solution in post 256 of this thread.

Any idea about the pictures in the SMS??

I like to see the peopes I'm messaging.. ;)

Not a clue. I'm using handcent currently on a "I'm not sure if I like it" basis, and it's got my pictures. If you've got facebook added as an account on the phone, not the app, it might help. I can't remember if all of the stuff it needs to sync is included or not but with DL09 there were some apps removed in certain roms that broke the SNS (facebook) sync.

Thanks sheepster, I'll keep an eye on that marital dispute...seemed like a fluke.. I'm doing some battery testing thing, so no flashing anything for me for a while, unless its in a controlled manner...getting some good stuff though.. will be posting a new thread in a couple days detailing the work I'm doing. Systematically testing things that may drain the battery... see the post here:

the pics should be pulled from your contacts.

sns works on superclean 2.9.2. i only use handcent when im not using launcherpro,. i like messaging widgts. launcher pro has the best i think. simetimes i switch it though. you use hand cent to back your texts dont you? i use sms backup and restore for that.

Got both the facebook app and my account set up on my phone. Tried syncing , display options etc etc, none of which worked. I know the problem is with the sns somewhere..if I have a picture from my camera set as a contact pic, it will show up in sms..just not the fb pics.

I am running bare bones right now. I don't even have a short cut on my home page.Haha.

Never have used handcent, always the stock sms.

I am positive it worked on 2.9.1. It's really no big...just one those annoyances I am set to conquer

When I edit a contact, on facebook I see this...

Never heard from anyone, so posting again, sorry am really curious :)

As I understand it there are not any undervolted kernels yet for this rom, is this correct? Also, could someone please tell me if the Verizon GPS box needs to be checked. I understand the framework has been added to the 2.9 series, but wasn't sure if that affected the gps. Adrynalyne said in 2.8 it would do nothing but now it's 2.9 with Verizon framework. (wasn't sure if verizons framework included gps)

So I tried updating from 2.9 to 2.9.2 this morning. I should have left good enough alone... While updating with Odin it looked like the program froze, but I left it going figuring I should be patient. After an hr I saw that it was working, just at a slow pace. 6 hrs later I get a failed screen and now the phone won't boot up or take me to the dl screen. Had the phone for a month and I think I finally bricked it. Any ideas?

No undervolted kernels yet. With the GPS fixes Adrynalyne has included since 2.9, you need to have all three location services checked to get the best GPS performance. Adrynalyne put back in the Verizon framework, so yes the Verizon GPS box needs to be checked. Also if you are using Google maps or nav, you need to have wifi on to get best performance. That is according to google maps.

Since you are using DroidXcon's method, go ahead and post this question in that thread and we can help you there:

Only issue I have had since flashing to 2.9.2 is my gallery doesn't load correctly every time. Sometimes I have to back out of it once our twice to get it to load. Other than that I'm happy with it. Oh yeah I'm running non voodoo.

Naw, TiBu does a fine job of that. SMS storage is one of the system data files that seems to be universal. If it wasn't I don't think other apps would be able to tap it. (I.E. handcent) I've moved to just restoring storage files individually instead of apps+system data. Calendar, dialer, sms, and there are others I think but I can't remember right now.

I could care less about messaging widgets. I like the popups in handcent, but I like the puzzle lock message access too. I'm trying handcent to see if I can go without the puzzle lock because I like the rotary and epic locks better. Handcent seems to work better with my "naked droid" build. I've got zero factory interface objects on my desktop currently. No notification bar, no dock, nothing. It's fun because people look at it and go "WTF? Is that a droid?" and I smile and say "Yep, it's my droid. How's the iPhone treating you?" I've been on a kick lately day dreaming about the way we use our phones, and how it could be totally changed, without even changing the operating system. I think I need to start writing apps. If only I knew how to modify anything that lacks a projectile.

Okay, so I rooted my Fascinate for the first time to SC2.9 last week and set it up and customized it nicely now. But wow, sc2.9.2 is out, lol! Would upgrading to 2.9.2 be the exact same process as doing my initial root to sc2.9? I'm assuming the NO DATA WIPE version would be the one to use if I wanna keep all my apps, contacts, settings, etc? Thanx in advance!

unless you describe how you did it last time we cant tell you if its the exact same process,,,but im going to assume if you are asking about no data wipe then you are asking about the odin packages, in which case you are asking in the wrong thread

but to answer your question, yes you can use no data wipe

This. I've noticed that the gallery will lock up a lot. Never had this issue in previous versions. But then again I just came yesterday from 2.5 to 2.9.2.

i just wanted to throw out the usual thanks to Sheepdog, DXC, gunnermike and Adrynalyne.

Putting 2.92 on was a bit of an adventure for me. I had numerous problems, but nothing that I could solve from reading the tons of posts from those listed and other.

Thanks again.

Not sure if anyone cares but here were a few of my issues with the solution:

I started from going backwards to the stock froyo image (via odin) as suggested by Droidxcon: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...root-clockwork-updated-3-25-a.html#post596699

Then I applied the 2.92 rom from the same thread. I hit a FC loop on that one and it wouldnt come out of the bootimage. I thought about it for a second, and was gonna just reapply 2.92, but I knew that I had the EC10 kernel on the sd card and just reflashed in CWM and it booted fine.

so goofed with it for a bit to make sure all the major things were working. Seemed ok and i moved on to flashing the nitrodark theme. if flashed fine, then booted ok, but it kept vibrating like it was trying to FC something. It would be 1 vibrate followed after a few second with 3 quick vibrates. Not sure what that is even though I read about it somewhere I think, but I knew it wasnt right.

Went back into recovery and reflashed the theme, that took care of the problem.

Next was the no camera thing. The power button would not cause the camera to take a picture. quick trip and a flash from this thread: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...t-animations-combined-resource-3-26-11-a.html and all is right in the world again.

I am postive that I am missing one or two minor things that happened but those were the biggies.

Last thing I did was make a nandroid backup of this setup before I added in any apps so that if I pollute this one, I will not have to go through all this crud again.

Sorry to bore you all but maybe someone will get a quick answer instead of starting on page 38 of this thread and reading forward....

Had this happen to me as well.... my "go to" lately has been wiping cache and dalvik. So, I did it.... revooted and all was better. Also, the first time you ope gallery after a boot, it tend to take a bit longer than normal to load images from the sd card. Give it a try

Thanks for all the info pizza. And sorry to rain on your parade, but you are probably not going to be able to restore that themed nandroid backup. Jaekar99, Suicide Shift, and I have been working like mad to resolve this issue, but for now everyone is ending up in a force close loop of hell (FCLOH) at boot animation, a.k.a boot loop, when restoring a themed backup. We believe the problem stems from not being able to fix permissions in cwm. For now the best advice we can give is to make a nandroid of just the base 2.9.2 ROM combined with perhaps one patch or mod if need be. Anything more than that has put us into a FCLOH. We are still working on the issue and hope to have some type of solution. Otherwise we are stuck until we get a completely functional, working cwm.

Thanks for letting me know that before (if/when) I get there. When it comes to that, I guess i am just gonna go with the pleasant thought of "Hey cool more experience with flashing!"
