[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

Hawk what apps are you running, maybe we are having the same app issue.

I also noticed it only seems to happen while it is locked/sleeping. That's what makes me wonder what possible app would be causing it since nothing is really running with this happens. I am running Launcher Pro and Beautiful Widgets, however I have run the same setup/apps for all of the SC versions I having been running over the last month or two starting at SC2.2 all of them have been NV.

SC 2.8 did not have this issue, although I would get a different type of crash pretty regularly where a pop up crash report would come up with some type of code (don't remember) and then it would ask to FC. Now I don't have that issue, but the reboot issue on 2.9

yeah a little, it would not load my location very well, sometimes I would have to physically change my location and try again. Seems to be better now, can actually find me inside my apartment which it couldn't do. So yes, I would say better.

I have noticed when my phone randomly reboots, it does the 3 vibration (kinda spaced out over a minute or two) during which time the phone is unresponsive (screen blank, no response to buttons) then after a little bit the boot animation starts and the phone starts up again.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running voodoo 2.9 after coming from 2.8v, no themes and regular launcher. I've had this random reboot happen 4 times now but each time it has only happened when the phone is locked.

Sorry guys, I've got nothing for ya. I searched all the samsung forums and found some posts where random reboots was mentioned. I was going to link you guys to the threads, but it would be better if you just went there yourselves because then you could click on each individual post and read it. Just look above these threads at the thread link in blue lettering separated by a bunch of these >, click on the Samsung Android Phones. When you get to that page, up in the top right hand corner of the thread you will see search this forum. Click on that, enter random reboot in the search box, click on show posts, then click go

Have you guys tried booting to recovery, wiping cache and wiping dalvik cache? Nighthawk if you were getting force close messages on 2.8 sounds like you might have had an issue you brought over to 2.9 with you. Try wiping cache and dalvik if you haven't already and see it that helps.

i never really knew what update.zip was when i first put it on my sd card for dxc packages. but from what im reading on these posts i should delete it from my sd card since i already have flashed 2.9 and cwm all?

Yeah, I didn't think anything of it, as it was a different type of problem (which I hadn't had in any of the other versions) and went away when I loaded 2.9
I cleared Cached and dalvik before loading 2.9.

Unless the threads you are talking about are specific to 2.9, I'm not sure they would apply. Has not been an issue until I flashed 2.9.

Yes delete it, but also follow all the steps in my post #349. You have to flash the cwm-all to replace the cwm froyo that is on your phone now.

Got to agree with Hawk on this one Shark. The search would be a general not specific to SC 2.9. I had launcher pro installed but wasn't using it and I am using Beautiful Widgets "Beautiful Home". After posting here I uninstalled launcher pro to test and it seems that has fixed the issue. However, I also removed some other programs when I removed launcher pro so there is no guarantee that was the fix. Here's the list of what I removed:

- Jorte
- Launcher Pro
- Launcher Pro Icons
- A Google Map Navigation Book

Adr- I'll be glad to provide the logcat, how do I get to it?

Anyone interested in trying a GPS mod (for those with bad GPS)?

Just flash in cwr, and disable/re-enable all your agps and gps settings on next reboot.

gps_fix_2.zip

GPS locks on almost instantly now and is accurate as soon as it locates me. No more waiting and stalling with an approximate location. Thanks again Adrynalyne

I'm currently running sc2.8 and have flashed the touchwiz clock and video player via red cwm (included with DX's latest data wipe Odin package). It has the errors.

1. Will the clock and video player be wiped after I flash 2.9?
2. Why does usb debugging need to be enabled when mounting the sdcard?

I was planning on following the instructions in post #2923 of this thread http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...roms-w-root-clockwork-updated-3-04-a-293.html

I still have the update.zip on my sd card from droidxcons package, but since flashing sc 2.9 last night, when i go to recovery, I go directly to red now. Do I need to delete the update.zip on my sd card or do anything else before i can flash themes through cwm?

I understand those aren't specific to 2.9 but one of the posts was dealing with someone who just went to Gingerbread 2.3.3 on the Nexus S, one was for the Epic, one was for someone going to DL09 on the Fascinate. I just thought something in those posts may be similar to what you are going through and give you some ideas of what to look for. I'm not Adrynalyne and don't know a thing about programming and codes and all, so I can't help you from that standpoint like he can. I'm just a dumb guy who has caught on to rooting and flashing rather quickly, so I try to help people in any way I can. Sometimes that involves looking for the same or similar problem elsewhere to come up with ideas. So sorry.

No need, thank you very much for the help. Anything anyone can provide is always appreciated. Especially when you went through the forums like that.:)

You can enable usb debugging, or change the usb settings. In my experience, it takes one or the other.

Think there are two ways, one you need to connect to your computer and use adb. The other is to use alogcat which can save it to a text file under an alogcat folder on your sdcard

1. As Adrynalyne said they will be wiped, but after you flash 2.9 all you have to do is boot to recovery again and flash those two zip files again.

2. Same answer as Adrynalyne.

Yes follow the steps in my post #2393 before you flash the 2.9 zip. The cwm-recovery-all is completely stable from what I have been able to test and you will have fewer issues (I have had none with the cwm-all) if you flash that first.
