Retrieving pictures and data from phone with broken screen?

Yes, you can retrieve everything.
Go here and watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbX4Rc5s7VI
and buy this:
eForCity USB 2.0 A to Micro B Female Male Adapter for LG G Pad 8.3 Sony Xperia Tablet Z Black 1613150 - Best Buy
and this:
Mouse, Logitech Wireless Mouse M185 Swift Gray | Meritline.com
Plug the adapter into your phone. Plug the wireless mouse receiver into the adapter. Use the mouse to navigate through your phone.
Use the mouse to enable MTP this way:
To select a USB mode for a connection
1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps Key > Settings > PC connection > Select USB connection method.
2. Tap Media sync (MTP), Internet connection, or Camera (PTP) to connect to the PC.
Make sure Ask upon connecting is turned off this way:
1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps Key > Settings > PC connection.
2. Uncheck the Ask upon connecting checkbox.
Now you can plug your phone into your computer and it should show up as a storage device. Move your files off your phone, then do a hard reset to wipe it.

Also, you could try to move files using wireless storage. Try this:
STORAGE SHARE
Wireless storage: Allows you to share files with your phone and computer. Go to >Settings >Share & connect >Wireless storage to turn Wireless storage on. You will see the Wireless storage icon on the top left corner of the status bar. Use that to see your address, user name and password. Open Internet Explorer and type your address (don't forget \\). You should be rewarded with a box that asks for your username and password. Enter those and voila, you have access to your files!

Hi,
I have an LG G2 with a cracked screen. I have my replacement phone, but before I send this broken one back I'd like to retrieve my pictures and voice memos and such. The problem is the screen is unresponsive and I can't get past the lock screen to put the phone in the correct mode to transfer files, so my computer won't see it. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

well what i did once i had the replacement phone, was to switch out the logic boards inside it was relatively easy just used a eyeglass type screwdriver removed the back and switched the old board to the replacement phone, hooked up to my mac, unlocked and backed everything up. hope this helps........jfdrums

This is such an amazing idea. I would have never thought of using a mouse to navigate my broken screen. Currently have a cracked OnePlus with encrypted storage and lock and was really thinking I would have to fix it to get my data off. Thanks!

you ppl are so useless sometimes..the question is how to fix the prob at hand not how to prevent it from happening...it's already happened I for one would love some help...touch unresposive, pass code activated so of course i can't access Settings or anything else on the phone and apparently neither could the person who first asked the question....some logical help from thinking ppl would be highly appreciated

Putting your phone to factory settings never deletes anything on your Internal Storage memory - there has never been a case reported anywhere on the web where this has actually happened to anyone on any smart phone.

Just reset to factory - this will at least get rid of the lockscreen. Once you enter your ORIGINAL google credentials, lewt google play reinstall all apps that it tries to - that is in case you have a photo app or two that stores pics in their own directories (it will just be easier than trying to hunt for them using Windows on a tether).

You have posted in the LG G2 forum so won't get a lot of help. Post in the main forum and at the same time explain what you mean by "phone does not turn on". Is it just the screen won't turn on or is the phone dead?

Thanks

Retrieving contacts from phone that has a black screen

My phone was dropped in water only for a few seconds. The message light still lights up and the two very bottom lights on my Samsung Galaxy 5 to light up. My phone is working but it has a complete black screen. I have been told I cannot get any phone contacts off it. Is there any possibility of getting information off that phone?

Retrieving contacts from phone that has a black screen

My phone was dropped in water and the screen went completely black. The phone was working. I transferred and bought a new phone but could not get any of my old contacts. How can I get the old contacts off my old phone? I cannot see anything on the old phone. The message light is blinking and I have the two bottom lights light up but the entire screen is black. I was told the lighting went out because of the water damage. I cannot put old contacts on my new phone have not found a way yet and nobody has helped me at any of the stores. They are saying it cannot be done.
