Nova Launcher (Bad News) [emoji22]

My first Samsung phone was the S8. Coming from several LG phones, I spent two years with the S8 running Nova. I didn't try Samsung's launcher (the Samsung Experience it was called I believe) until my last week with that phone. I was delighted to find that I actually loved it.
The s8 was a nice phone.

Samsung has come a long way from its TouchWiz days.

I have read positive things about Lawnchair. Sometimes a little change is fun!
:D

I'll see if I can go find the post again, because I first heard about it here. I can't remember exactly what the change was, but I'm on version 7 and it was the version after (I think) that had a substantial change I didn't like.
Yeah, I'm on 8.1.1 now, and came from 7, and 6 before that. I didn't notice anything, unless it's a feature I don't use.

Found it.

What initially turned me off was the update to Material theme, but the Play store reviews were mentioning it being bug filled after that update.
Ah, yes. I posted in there too. I guess whatever they did to mess with the Material You Theming was something that I just didn't encounter.

After using Octopi for a few days, one thing that I'm missing from Nova:

I use O365 apps for the day job on my S25u.

With Nova, those apps existed in a separate Work folder from the main/personal apps and there is also a button to Turn off work apps.

As a work around: I located Work Apps tile in Quick Settings, moved it closer to the top of the list (visible on 1st swipe) and created a separate folder with all my work apps.Screenshot_20250911_121833_Nova Launcher.jpg

What other launchers are you using or thinking of using now?
Fold 7 user here coming from an S-Ultra series. I was a Nova fan for a LONG time, longer than I can remember, and am sad to see it go, but once I went back to a Fold, Nova was a non-starter for me without native Fold support.

I resigned myself to OneUI, but have been fighting for a couple months because it just did not allow the granular level of customization that I wanted.

Now, I am rocking OctoPi and have the same feelings I had when I first found Nova. The Devs are very responsive, willing to take in suggestions from the community and I just love this launcher!!
