Return for EVO 3D?

I love my NS4G, the size, vanilla android, super AMOLED, but the signal issues are really starting to get to me. Coming from an EVO and knowing how much better the signal quality was, its really frustrating. I got mine on May 10 so if the June 4 launch pans out and theres no fix for these signal issues, its back to HTC I go!

A big argument seems to be that the Nexus is going to get Ice Cream Sandwich first. Anyone have any clue what is coming out with ICS?

Love everything about my ns4g: aosp gingerbread, super amoled, perfect sized 4" screen, light/curved form factor.
My only gripe is slow data speeds on 3g/wifi. If nothing is done soon about this, then I will jump ship. Mainly bc I cant stand slow data, and also i look for a company that offers support to its customers, and after the way HTC handled the bootloader ordeal, I can't expect anything less. Here's to hoping a fix comes out soon.

I plan to wait till june 5th and see if any fix comes for the nexus if not I will return it a go back to my Palm Pre. I hope buy then the 3d will be out and I can kind of sit back and see what problems it will have. I am hoping buy the end of June I can make a little better decision and get either a working nexus or a working 3d. It looks like the nexus is falling pretty fast in price so I may end up saving a few bucks along the way. Guess we all just wait and see.

That won't stop me from jumping ship if the signal issue isn't fixed before the 17th of June.

But I bet HTC doesn't mess around too long before releasing ice cream asap to get both cores rocking on their flagship phone.

Really??? EVO is still on Froyo! And Gingerbread has been out how long?
I almost got the EVO but the screen on the Epic and that it came with more memory sold me.
Then I found out about the NS. . . here I am!!!
Only real thing I can see is 3D which isn't what I want. I want latest updates! NFC! SuperAMOLED!!! (Most beautiful screen out there IMO!!!)
Next year when my upgrade is available again, I will get something better than the EVO 3D. For now, the NS4G is it!

Now dont get me wrong, I love my Nexus, but the idea of a 3D phone does sound tantalizing.

I bought my phone on opening day, May 6th, which means I have my 30-day return rebate valid until June 5th (I think). The EVO 3D is rumored to come out on the 4th of June.

Has anyone else though about returning their Nexus for the EVO 3D? I stopped by Sprint to see if it was legal and they said yes, the only fee would be a $35 restocking charge.

Has anyone else though of this? I may switch back to my Pre for a couple of days just to make sure I fit in the rebate window.

Thoughts?
I would do the same. In my opinion the HTC Evo is much a better device than the Nexus S. (As far as I've read)
No way. Exchange for a clunky, heavy phone, that looks like an old micro cassette recorder, just for gimmicky 3d technology that'll require a bottle of excedrin for the headache it'll give you? Didn't mention the faster processor because it may not feel faster, give sprint bloatware and Htc sense that'll bog it down.
I have no idea of that phone you've mentioned. My Evo 4G and soon to owend Evo 3D are two beautiful phones. Infact, most phones now have the same form factor. :-D

Im worried because I got my phone on the 6th, so Im not sure if the June 4th release is comfortably within the 30-day rebate period. But since everything is backed up with android, i could bear switching back to my Pre for about a week.

The Evo has nothing that makes it better then the Nexus S. The Nexus S is the better device, and is spec wise.

They are rumors, but I wouldn't say there is no possibility. It makes sense that a new Nexus would come out when Ice Cream Sandwich does.

Ive made up my mind. With how weak my signals are and how echo-ey my headpiece is, Im switching back to the Pre until the Evo 3D launch. Its just getting annoying when my computer has full WiFi and my phone can't pick it up.

We had a good run, Nexus. Adieu...

There will always be better, newer, devices coming out.
There will be a new Nexus at some point. Who would really believe otherwise?
For the next year, my NS4G will be awesome!!!
Only thing I don't like. . . being the only kid on the block with Gingerbread! Ha! Can't gtalk video chat with anyone!!! I tried it with a friend of mine on her computer and it works A LOT better than Tango!!!
Anyway DeCourseyyy. . . Enjoy your 3D!!!
I'm gonna enjoy my NS4G (beauty is in the eye of the beholder)

And what happens when Evo3D will have same problems? :)

I for one would take NFC over "3D" on a 4.3" display anyday. All these 3d gimmicks are annoying and pointless. Also dual core is not used currently so thats another waste of a feature. By the time Ice cream comes out and takes advantage of dual core new phones will be out. And i bet you that NS4G will get ice cream faster then Evo3d

I played with a evo on release day. It was my first android expierence.

I hated it. To this day every android that I touch has had a customized UI on it. There all terrible and unsimplified to make preety (if you wanna call it that). So the first android that I have bought is the Nexus S 4g. When I frst heard that sprint was thinking about the nexus s I was stoaked to be able to expierence the stock android. I switched from a Palm Pre. and I will be hard pressed to go back to the Palm Pre.

Don't think I don't love webOS to the core. But theres just no apps. I can't believe how many apps I have installed on this Nexus. I may not use all of the all the time. But its its just that extra benefit.

I had a 3d camera I bought to sell on ebay. I played with it. It was fun gimmicy. But it will die off after you use it. The 3d feature would only benefit you if you have a 3d tv at home when taking videos or pictures. Most people will likly end up turning off the 3d display to save battery and just using it to show off. And 3d gaming? Well, there might be some games that come out to support it. Im a huge pro-3d person for home equipment. But 3d on phones, or mini handhelds? Eh. I just don't think it will take off to the point of useful'ness.

Kinda like the ECHO and its two screens. There just won't be enough support.

So NO, I will not return my Nexus for a 3D EVO. Id return it to go back to my Palm Pre till the bugs are worked out of the nexus.

Not that sprint is ever going to get another webOS device anyways. :p

Not really missing much by not getting another WebOS device. Palm's phones are absolutely atrocious.

I don't see why everyone keeps saying dual cores is a "waste." I intend to use my phone for the full life of the contract, and expect ICS and beyond to start making use of those cores. It's inevitable. It's also got double the RAM. That is useful across the board.

Sure, new dual core phones will be out when ICS goes wide.. but I'm buying a phone now. Sure, the update might not get there as fast as the Nexus, but one way or another, it'll happen.

Everything else, yeah.. I couldn't care less about 3D, and if it makes the phone too bulky, I might not like it. qHD though... it's a trade off.

However, with all that said... if memorial day rolls around and amazon has the nexus s 4G for free for current customers, I'll probably forgo future proofing hardware for a free phone =)

I love the Pre's form factor =/ It's just QC....

Let me rephrase it. Dual core is a waste right now. Gingerbread doesn't take advantage of it. By the time its built into android and being actively used I will most likely be upgrading to a newer phone.

I too loved WebOS but gave up on it mainly because of the serious lack of apps. WebOS was good, I liked synergy didn't like Pre and found Pixi too small of a screen size. But main reason was lack of apps, developer support
