Return of the Droid X

I upgraded to a RAZR, and it is great. However, I needed certain things the X couldn't provide. Primarily, I needed LTE for tethering when I'm on call. It makes a, big difference when I'm VPN'd in. I wanted a front facing camera as well. I also wanted to get rid of the lag issues I was having even after a wipe. There are other features I like better on the RAZR, but really, if it wasn't for LTE, I'd still be on the X. The RAZR is a better phone, but it's not revolutionary better. Had LTE not been a factor, I could have lived with the lag until the next group of phones came out, especially since I got a Thinkpad Tablet.

I have had my X since the beginning (the longest I have ever had any phone - and the original one!) and have been looking at the Nexus/RAZR/Rezound trio but I am not super impressed. So to make the X seem fresh and hold me over I loaded the lasted MIUI ROM 1.12.9 and I am loving it. I have been rooted for a while now and had run CM7 for a while but MIUI is pretty nice and my X is fast, smooth and has better battery life now. The X is definitely a great phone.

I have had my X for a while, and it's the best phone I've ever owned. I've played with some of the newer phones too, and while they are better, they're not better enough for me to ditch the X yet. Roms keep it fresh, and after playing around with EncounterICS on it, I quickly got over my Galaxy envy. Who knows, it eventually may be enough to keep me held off until Jelly Bean.
