Anyone know if you buy a phone on Verizon and then exchange it for another one if that is the phone you then have to keep? Policy says one exchange, but can you just take the phone back? A friend bought a storm2, then exchanged for an Eris and now wants the Droid. Anyway for him to do this? (still within the 30 days if that matters)

Your friend would have to have a pretty good sob story to get a third phone. I read the average smartphone return/exchange costs a carrier $350, and the return policy on the receipt is pretty black and white.

from my experience in the VZW store near me; I went through 4 BB Storm2s in 8 days. I explained the issue to not only VZW customer support via 611 but also talked to the store manager. I was able to get out of the Storm2s and into the Droid but was informed that this would be the only exchange allowed and all other returns would be swapped out for DROID under the worry free guarantee.
Just remember, that if nothing is wrong with the phone.. there will be a $35 restock fee.
Make if there is an issue that you can reproduce it in front of the tech as this will help your plea to get into another model instead of the same one.

It depends on where you got it. I got mine at best buy and changed 4 times within my 30 days. I got the blackberry 8320 then tour then storm2 and now eris. Did it with no problem.

At a verizon corporate store you can get around the restock fee by returning the phone, waiting 3 days, then getting another phone. I did this with my droid when I wanted to change my contract length from 2 years to 1 year. The new phone should then be eligible for exchange or return.
