Return to home screen after locking Note 10+

I am new to Android and just moved to the Note 10+ from an iPhone after many years. I love the phone but one annoying thing is that if I am on an app, let's say WhatsApp and I then lock the phone, when I then unlock the phone the same app is displayed rather than the home page?

Is there any way to make the home page always display after unlocking it? Is there a setting? I really don't want to bloat out my phone with an additional app to do this unless I really have to as I don't want any issues with battery consumption etc.

I don't think so unless you root.
My apple does the same thing too though, so I don't know what iPhone you're referring to.

I've never seen any OS natively return to the home screen when locking/unlocking the screen. I could see a launcher on Android doing this, but certainly not iOS.

I used AutomateIt (pro) on my Note 8. it was really useful for things like that. terrible with the wifi rules, but for screen off, going to home, things like that, it was really perfect. need to set it up on my 10+

I'm on iPhone right now and mine is not how you describe. If I am in an app and lock.. when I come unlock I'm back in that app.

there will be some increase, but I never noticed anything different while using it.

It wouldn't be the launcher that would do it, it would have to be a lock screen app that does it (or Android would have to be rewritten so that the launcher ran on unlock). Not even Tasker can fire on exit of the lock screen.

I saw your post and thought I could help...I went thru the same thing with my Note 10 plus, it wouldn't go back to the home screen after I unlocked it...so I tried this: AND IT WORKS: if you have say 4 pages on your phone to toggle thru, if you have the calendar widget on the very end of one for your pages, move it to the middle or anywhere but the ends if the pages on either side, there is something with the calendar widget that makes the phone go to that page instead of the home page. Once you do this, lock it and then wait a minute then unlock, it will stay at your home page.
