Return to stock

Hey there,

I think I screwed up my phone during the rooting process. I can't use many of the push commands, I can't use any of the SQL servers from the market and a lot of other little problems that are popping up.

What I'd like to know is: is there any way that I can return my phone back to 100% stock... Pre-root, pre-recovery, pre-unlock?

Or would it be easier just to try to get s-off and see if a full Rom replacement will fix it?

You can run the ruu from windows, but if you are s on I think you need to relock your bootloader

Did you flash a rom after rooting or just superuser?

I would suggest doing a full wipe and flash something like harmonia before unrooting.

you can usually fix issues by wiping and doing a fresh install

Also install 4ext recovery if you haven't already

ok, first let me start by saying i have major problems.

I need help badly. I tried that jbear wire trick and effed my phone. I can't get jbear to run again and I can't get my phone to boot. I managed to get twrp installed though I need significantly more help. I there a way to install a rom i.e. the stock ruu to my "Blank" phone via ADB? I lost my backup for my phone because my friend deleted my files without asking. Is there any way to get the original files for the EV?

or should I just lock it and hope that VM will replace it.

Download the ruu here:

Relock your bootloader using fastboot command fastboot oem lock

Then run the Ruu. Follow the on screen instructions. This will return you to completely stock like when you bought the phone. It's a good starting point when you get in over your head. Start fresh ;)

I runs through the processes but errors out saying "ERROR [140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR"

The bootloader screen says.

**** RELOCKED ****

FASTBOOT USB

<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item

BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN

Idk what has happened here, but I would suggest the following:

1) do a full wipe
2)flash harmonia
3)perform the wire trick and get s off
4)have at it cm, solo, sense 4, etc

I get an unknown error

On which part? Flashing that zip or running the Ruu?

A couple suggestions for the ruu... Check the md5 sum to ensure you got a proper download of the ruu. Try running it from fastboot usb mode instead of booted up.

If you had the error trying to flash the zip, try to re download to make sure you didn't get a corrupted download. Also you may need to unlock the bootloader again if you had already relocked it.

bigbdroid does it say what radio you have in the bootloader?

The HTC EVO 3D and the Virgin HTC EVO V 4G are ONE AND THE SAME.

The only difference between the phones is in software: Baseband information for Virgin rather than Sprint.
