returned the atrix because of data speed! happy now!

I'm getting roughly 3mb down, and .16 up in orange county. I'm using the speedtest.net app with the san diego server. If I use the Los Angeles server, the speed is 1/4. Just a note, because those are two completely different results.

I have experienced this as well. LA Server for Speedtest.net is completely inaccurate.

You my friend are a supreme idiot. You traded the much better phone for the most overrated feature upload speeds, which by the way the Atrix will have much improved upload speeds in the next few weeks. Good luck with your single core soon to be antiquated Samsung crap phone lol.

You know, it's really annoying to see posts like this on an Android-specific forum. We all are Android users here, who cares what one person who chooses that you may or may not disagree with; he stated the reasons for his switch, if you don't agree with it, DEAL WITH IT. You don't have to reply calling someone out an idiot because have some preconceived idea in your head. Specs alone obviously don't matter if you compare some of the latest Optimus 2x/Atrix benchmarks to the Nexus S. Also, without native dual core code for dual core, it seems too soon to jump to those devices. I am only giving a couple counter ideas so that you know maybe where he's coming from, the main point of this post is to stop the arguing between the people on here.

It seems now instead of arguing about platforms, Android vs iOS, that people are going to argue about phone models in general and become fanboys to their specific model? It's like all the people I hear telling me how amazing the EVO still is, if that's how they feel that's fine, but don't ATTACK others for what they want to use.

Seriously? You called him an idiot for being a free man? He likes the Nexus S and stated why. Whether you agree with him or not is another thing but to call him an idiot? Grow up.

Thats the past. Grab a Captivate and feel the quality and check out the screen. Super AmoLED. One of the best Android Phones I have ever owned. Besides the Lack of Froyo.

The GPS issues didn't bother you?

I used an upgrade to get an Atrix on release day. It was the first AT&T-branded phone I've purchased in a long time. Coming from the N1, I was looking forward to the 2500-quadrant-score performance. Unfortunately, the little stuff killed it for me, so I returned my Atrix on Monday. Back on my N1 now, with some new CM 7 love on it, and am happy as a clam.

I do miss the fingerprint scanner, but don't miss the weird connection issues getting to the Market on wifi, capped upload speeds, and the built-in music player randomly skipping back to the middle of the previous track.

i am getting tired of rebooting my phone so that it can refresh the connections on 3G!!!! WTF ATT & MOTO send an update to fix this

I loved the atrix so don't hate! Couldn't stand network speeds so returned it today for the nexus s, wowy Totally happy. Super fast, pure Android and fast data. Will miss finger print rreader and moto blur, I know odd but it wasn't so bad.

To clarify (and repeat someone else's question): you went back to tmobile?

I'm close to returning mine. There's too many little things that I don't like. The screen being on the top of my dislike list.

I have got as high as 7.4mbps and can consistently get 3-5mbps up here on Rogers.

Hows the phone working on rogers? I live in Downtown Vancouver and I was planning on buying the Bell version when it comes out in a few weeks and unlocking it for use on rogers. But have been contemplating the AT & T version. Any thoughts?

Where are you located? I am in West Palm Beach, FL geting 1Mbps and In Certain parts in Miami getting 3Mbps

Phro, it really depends on what server you're trying to connect to. You'll see different results depending on what city you test to. For instance I'm in Ft. Lauderdale and when I test to Tallahassee I get on avg less than 1mbps down. Yet when I switch to Cincinnati I was getting over 3mbps down. I think it really has to do with the server you're using for the speed tests. Not an expert here but a buddy and I believe it's because it's based on how the servers in those areas funnel the traffic.

i hope nobody chews myhead off cause i say i still love the nexus one more than all. just non rooted manually dl,ed 2.3 and its like a new phone. dual core or not ,front facer or not, man i still love it so much. im still back when we were waiting for the nexus 2 with front facing camera from htc. hehe. still loving android because of my status quo. so many comin out im scared to get a new one. the bionic is the only thing that seems pimper to me, but im tmobile, even though the service sucks,i gotta stick with them. 44 dolla a month unlimited everythng.

i subliminally work for google/android on a daily basis n dont even get paid. (

What good is a front facing camera if the only people you can video chat with are other Atrix users?

I had to return my atrix also. I lost more calls and had the worst data recetion in 7 days that I had in 7yrs. ATT sucks I tried because the phone is awsome nut the net work is sooo inconsistant after you leave the tower repeater in the store. If I had a godd data conection I had to stay in that spot.

I loved yhe atrix but I lost more calls in 7days than I did in 7yrs so I had to come bk to my EVO. But damn that is a kickass phone. I hope Evo will have HD display, dual core and gorilla glass if not I will hold for the next thing that does.

I think in the end, it's always going to boil down to personal preference. As such, I don't understand the need for insults or touting one phone model over another.

I just made the switch to Android a little less than two weeks ago. I have AT&T and looked at the Atrix and the Inspire 4G. There was something I didn't like about the Atrix, and I loved the Inspire and the HTC UI. In the end, that's what I went home with. I don't regret my purchase, even if I constantly hear that the Atrix is the superior phone. I buy what I like and what works for me.

Personal preferences shouldn't be cause to insult someone, especially over a cell phone.

Sent via Tapatalk on the HTC Inspire 4G.
