Returned to Android for the first time since 2011

Hi folks! I was all about Android in the early days, mostly because I worked at a Verizon store so had access to swapping around often. Around early 2011, I picked up an iPhone and I've been a yearly upgrader to the newest iPhone since.

Year after year I hope for a big change, something new, something fresh, etc. After seeing what was coming for the iPhone 16....I just gave up. Finally made the change, painfully due to the tied up ecosystem we had at home, to Android/Google.

In the long room, I feel it'll save me a ton since I wasn't an avid Mac user (just web browsing, etc).

Traded my iPhone 15 Pro Max for a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and so far, I'm absolutely loving it. Being able to change so many features and settings just feels mind blowing!

Completely agree with you about how little the iPhone changes from year to year. I was bored with Apple for a long time, but I was afraid to switch because I thought the disruption would be massive and I'd lose things that I was used to like electronic payments and messaging on my laptop. Turns out there are Android substitutes for everything iOS offers. The switch was much easier than I thought it would be, and I'm glad to be free of the Apple lock-in. I bought a ThinkPhone 25 from Amazon.uk and I'm really enjoying it.

However, my ThinkPhone isn't my first Android phone. Back in about 2010 I had a Nexus One. That was a cool phone in its day. I also had a BlackBerry Z10 and a bunch of Windows Phones. image65.png

Hello there, a bit late but, welcome to the forums!

Hope the Pixel has been good to you so far.
