Returning a Google Nexus 7 question

So, I just received my N7 today, and I've noticed the situation with the glass not being properly glued on the upper left side (as has been reported with some peoples devices)

I want to get it replaced (as I'm sure its under warranty), but since I ordered it from Google Play but I'm afraid it won't be months until its replaced since they've been having so much customer service trouble.

It's probably a long shot, but is there anyway I could replace it at the GameStop in my town, or do I just need to suck it up and call Google and wait for them to send me a new one?

Or even just wait a week or two until things have settled and then call? Does anyone have experience getting it replaced through Google yet??

If you bought it from Google Play, then I think you will have to return it to them.
I would get on the phone with google ASAP, wait your hour plus on hold and get an RMA and a tentative replacement ship date

Good luck

Yeah...I sort of figured.

Does anyone know how they handle replacements? I've only ever replaced Verizon devices, and they just send a new one with a box to send the old one back in. I'm assuming Googles process would be similar?

I'm going to have to do this tomorrow myself :-( have you made the call yet?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Android Central Forums

I would wait until they are readily available before returning. If you return now you will probably have to send it back now and wait until more are available.

Same issue with me at the upper left. I may wait until they are actually available. I'll call them and see what they say first

Google Play will send a replacement and include a paid shipper to return the defective unit.
