Re: Not impressed with the Photon...at all

Hipocrisy much??? I promise I've seen you trying to sway the "idrones" to the better product before havn't you? This is all im trying to accomplish here. Same as many other people.

Sorry, you've got the wrong person. I have never criticized iPhones or the people who purchase them.

Miss Spoke.. Have you never done that before?? Clearly I meant weight..

Who is Miss Spoke and why isn't she married yet?

My point is that you come across as ignorant by the way that you write and speak. Aiight? Know what I'm sayin'? Aiight? Hell, you even screwed up your response to being called out for screwing up And don't get it wrong, these aren't isolated incidents. You "Miss spoke" quite often.

Just don't be surprised when people don't buy into "FACTS" from someone who communicates as well as a special needs 3rd grade immigrant.

Re: This says most of it all!!

Photon has
1. Proven better call quality

Great! After having my E3D for a while now I cant say that I have ANY issue with call quality. Is the Photo more clear? Maybe but to be honest I am 26 years old and I wouldnt hear it any better than on the E3D. This is a good point if you have hearing issues maybe. have seen posts about this. Sadly to the common customer this is a VERY minor deal.

2. Proven better 3g and 4g radios

I Cant say that I agree with this. My download speeds in VT are no differant then I had with my Palm Pre-. There for this is more to do with the area. I can't say that any phone out here in VT has ever been OMFG better for me.

3. Proven audio out quality hands down better than evo3d

Not sure about the Photon. Even if it is I wouldn't care about this. All my phone needs to do is ding for texts and ring for phone calls. I would use head phones otherwise. At that point it wouldn't matter to much. Again unless you have hearing issues. There are many ways to turn the volume up on the speakers. In fact some of the great people on these forums have some fixes for this if you take the time to look for it.

4. Proven better still camera

Your right here. I will give you this one. I don't even use the 3D on my phone. 3MP on the E3D. Not a deal breaker for me though. E3D has a much better screen than the Photon. I guess that's for the end user to know what they would rather have.

5. Proven better video camera

Please read up on the cam. Same idea. Its nice but not a deal breaker for me.

6. Proven better video audio recording quality

Not sure how this is proven? Even if true its not like its a HUGE different. If anything its minor more than likely.

7. Better Screen tech - Lower battery consumption

Sorry I like a better screen. I will keep my qHD screen. My battery life is just fine for me! I can get a full day of play outta my device. This will very user to user pending on how you use your phone day to day.

8. Proven better battery life

Maybe so but my E3D lasts long enough for me!

I am sure the Photon is a great device! I also know that the E3D is a great device. With these diff between both devices is a GOOD THING! No need to fight over this. I say we should all EMBRACE the options. This way we can pick from a few phones rather than say ONE flagship phone from Sprint. So it Sprint wants to bring other big hitters on board I am game! :)

Yes because I was dissappointed with the Evo 3D and you should also..Its facts man whats so hard about accepting the truth in FACTS..The reason why our country is so screwed up is because people don't vote based on FACTS.. Try to come to terms with yourself.. You spent your hard earned money on an inferior product so just deal with it!! Lol.

Tort reform . Don't look it up. Just tell me the facts and if you voted for or against. Because facts can be deceiving. And people like you can misunderstand how to interpret the facts.

The EVO3d is far from an inferior product.

This forum is for EVO 3D enthusiasts, not haters. Coming in here to bash the EVO 3D isn't productive.

If only we had a SLAP button next to the THANKS button. ltm ltm

There is no Slap button but you can still Vote for Sprint's best Android phone

Right now 40% rate the EVO 3D as the top Sprint phone.

In fact the EVO 3D is the top vote getter of all 40 US phones surveyed.

Vote if you haven't voted, Polls are still open.

just an update as to my "poor" battery life...

the past 2 days were med-heavy usage...web, 3d video shooting/playback, 3d gaming about 2 hours or more, some texts, email, some phone calls. light to no 4G, mostly wifi. plenty of app downloading and installing.
both days I got 14 hours before my battery was at or just bellow 10%

today, with light use, same as above, but just far less usage. alot less.
"battery unpluged for 14 hours", I have 42% charge left.

if you have the EVO3D and do NOT have about the same results, then you need a new battery from sprint or a new phone because one or both has to be defective.

It make take you a few full recharges of the battery for it to be trained....

Give it a few more days with a few more full charges. Mine got A TON better after letting that happen.

Or you may just have to accept that you're going to get worse battery life. I mean, you now have a larger, more pixel dense screen, widgets, dual core, and and a CDMA radio... Personally I carry a spare battery with me if I'm worried about it dying on me.

‪Motorola Photon vs HTC Evo 3D‬‏ - YouTube

Im going to do more and say the following things as well. Also please understand that I kept the Evo3d until the 29th day. I just couldn't justify selling my EVO 4g on CL and keeping the 3d for a primary phone. I had so much buyers remorese with the 3d.

Photon has
1. Proven better call quality
2. Proven better 3g and 4g radios
3. Proven audio out quality hands down better than evo3d
4. Proven better still camera
5. Proven better video camera
6. Proven better video audio recording quality
7. Better Screen tech - Lower battery consumption
8. Proven better battery life

All these things are what makes a smartphone a smartphone and Motorola has made nearly a completely perfect product. Believe me folks I was an avid HTC fan just check my past post..

Here's something you might want to learn. There's a huge difference between fact and opinion. Everything you list is opinion. Phones don't work the same for every person, therefore something that you consider to be proven better, doesn't make it a fact, it's your opinion, or anyone else that says it. I've also used both phones, but I'm on my 2nd Photon because of numerous problems, the biggest being not being able to make a phone call. Now my second one is acting up, and I've had enough of the Photon. Read around the forums, there are quite a few people having problems and returning their Photon's. So you can stop with the superior product crap. It's far from perfect.

It's Decision Time and I Need Your Help!

I have just 3 days left of my 30 day 3VO trial. I need to decide whether I'm going to keep my 3VO or turn it in for the Photon.

Here are the issues I have with my EVO 3D (aka 3VO):
  1. Low speaker volume
  2. Poor camera quality
  3. Poor video recording
  4. Borderline poor call quality
  5. Hard to see screen in bright sunshine (makes it hard to drive using GPS)

Here's what I like about my phone:
  1. 3D Capabilities (would be more useful if I could view my 3D content on a regular computer)
  2. Sense 3.0 eye candy (the HTC weather widget is HOT!)
  3. The way it feels in my hand with my Seidio Active case
  4. Many third party vendor support for cradles, screen protectors, and cases
  5. Visual Voicemail (this is a big deal for a former Pre owner!)
  6. Web browser automatically resizes and wordwraps text upon pinching and zooming WITHOUT having to double tap after a resize.

From playing with the Photon in the Sprint store, it seems like the Photon fixes all of the issues I have with the 3VO, has longer battery life, a much brighter screen and the kickstand with desk clock mode is pretty cool. However, I would lose 3D capabilities (not that important), the Sense 3.0 eye candy, and Seidio hasn't made any cases for it yet. I really hope they make an Active case and a desktop charging cradle for the Photon like they've made for the 3VO.

Here are my concerns about the Photon:
  1. Pentile Display (I can see various degrees of graniness on different phones. Some phones look ok and others look pretty bad.)
  2. There are many reports of the phone randomly rebooting or needing to be rebooted in order to make and/or receive calls.
  3. Reports of the proximity sensors malfunctioning.

Whatever phone I get needs to be able to MAKE and RECEIVE calls first and foremost. However, many people are also reporting that they are not having any issues with their Photon. I don't want to have to go through the effort of returning my 3VO which DOES make calls (though with poor/mediocre sound quality) to end up with a Photon that I have to reboot often to make calls. But I might get lucky and get one that has no issues.

Please chime in and let me know your thoughts on what I should do. I'd really appreciate your help!

I finally check out the Photon. The NS4G,Photon,E3D are all fast. I'm glad I got the E3D I like the feel, the UI better than the other two. But good gawd what were they thinking with the crosshatched screen? On the plus side the rep said you get a free bag of checkers with each Photon. :p

Re: It's Decision Time and I Need Your Help!

I know how you feel. I upgraded to the Evo3D in July. My 30 days expire on Aug 12. I share your concerns in regards to the call problems. My Evo3D has average call quality at best but I don't know if it is worth the risk of returning it for a Photon which many people say cannot make/receive calls. It's too risky for me. I read a post on the Photon forum that a Sprint rep said an update to fix the call problem is supposed to come tonight/tomorrow. I personally think it is too risky and will probably decide to stay with the Evo3D when I wake up tomorrow.

EVO!!!

You really can't get full web view? I messed around with one at the Sprint store for a minute the other day but didn't try browsing the web. I personally prefer the full web version of most sites unless I just want to look up an account or quickly pay a bill. For example, when posting here using my phone I view the full page. Or am I misunderstanding (it is early ;)).?

You want a phone with problems get a Nexus S... I spent 2 months Sprint exchanged it 4 times I had connectivity problems and the last "refurbished" one liked liked to randomly reboot and wipe out its memory. I gave up was able to work out a way to get the 3vo 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it! I went to the store the other day to check out the Photon and took 5 minutes to know that it's not for me. I really like Sense, and the phone does everything i need it to. I haven't had any call quality issues or anything.
