So what transpired at Samsung between the first cryptic email and my calls to now saying the refund will be applied?

My curiosity at a high level; however, I will just sit back and wait til see the refund on the account and be happy I didn't have to go any further in the process.

Does it change my mind about purchasing future Samsung products? Not sure, maybe after a cool down period I might consider another purchase from Samsung, but it might take a while. I guess, "time will tell" or is it Time heals all wounds? I guess I'll know in time.:)

Hopefully, I won't. Just the refund to the CC account is all I want. If FedEx comes to the door with a package from Samsung, it will be rejected and returned. I have a new Pixel 4XL and happy with it; at least until next year when I start looking for a new phone.

Lol this actually happened to me once. I even contacted Samsung and asked them how I can return the device and they never got back to me after multiple attempts, so I ended up getting a free phone out of it!
 
How long before you got your refund ? Samsung sent an email last friday saying they received the device but I have yet to hear back. Thanks in advance
 
I just checked my account and the full credit was issued today. So that would be two days since the two notices from Samsung. That is a decent time frame for a credit after notification there would be a credit.

However, Samsung sends out a notice when the returned item is received, and then follows up a day or two later with an email saying it was "successfully returned" and a credit will be applied to the correct account.

Got an email last Friday saying return received but nothing as of today to say successful. I have heard horror stories about ordering from Samsung but my god this ridiculous.
 
I returned my S20 Ultra and tablet I received as the free gift in separate return packages on Monday

2 Emails from Samsung yesterday stating returns were received.

2 Emails from Samsung today stating my return was successful and refund amount was correct.
 
Mine was received last Wednesday, accepted and refunded on Tuesday this week but haven’t seen it credited yet. And as I mentioned above I’m skeptical given the number they say they are refunding is almost 200 less than I paid. They assured me I’d get it all back but I’m fully expecting a huge fight.
 
just wondering why people are sending their phones back? Mine Ultra is coming from T Mobile and is arriving Monday.
 
Samsung has the worst return process. I bought my S20 online but had the option to return it to a Samsung store, which I did thinking I'd get the credit immediately like most other retailers. Not so. I gave them the phone and they basically ship it back using the same shipping label in the return order. When I dropped it off, they couldn't even give me a confirmation email or physical receipt that I returned it at the store. The Samsung agent said he's complained about this before and suggested I take a picture of his screen showing I did in fact return it. The store waited several days to ship my device back, so it took well over a week for Samsung to receive my device. I just got the return confirmation yesterday saying they now have to process the return before I get the refund. Pretty lame system, or maybe I'm just spoiled by the way Amazon does it :)
 
I returned a Note device a few years back and they had it for about two weeks and nothing so I had called AMEX and got them to refund it and do a charge back.

I swore never to buy again directly from them but their trade in offers were just too tempting. So I succumbed.

I bought an Ultra but I wasn't impressed with the autofocus issue and I didn't fancy being stuck with the device while I waited for an update which could take ages so I initiated a return and bought an S20 Plus which was delivered yesterday. So now I have two charges to Samsung on my card.

I returned the Ultra via FedEx yesterday so hope they don't mess around with refunding it. It was in perfect condition. If they do, I'll be onto American Express again to fix it.. that's why I buy my stuff on that card because they are usually very good with purchase protection and dodgy retailers.

That said, I'm sure the coronavirus and the impact it's having will send everything haywire.
 
How long between them receiving it and you getting the refund.

Samsung sent me an email last Friday that they recieved the return. Got an email last night stating refund was issued. CC reflected the refund. It was a debit card so maybe that's why it was so fast.
 
my issue samsung system not updating.I recieved my phone last week and still this AM doesnt show delv and I told samsung I got it last friday system not updating so I can start a return.
I begged them to help as now my state has stay at home order.
I am email back and fourth the sasmung office of the president.Has any ever got results from them?

I actually went through the office of the President and finally got my refund 2 weeks later. I was a bit gentle on them because they might be short staffed with Coronavirus but it got ridiculous enough where I escalated. Took about a week after I reached out to the office of the President.
 
Samsung state they refunded my card, a debit card, 11 days ago. Still hasn’t shown up. Wonderful.
 
I would suggest you contact your bank ASAP and see if it is a problem on their end, if not, file a notice. Would also suggest never use a debit card for online purchases.
