Reverse charging

[Android Central Question]

I got a pop up msg "provides normal reverse charging and data transmission
Whenever I plug my charger battery starts decreasing but whenever I plug some other device charger it's working fyn...
My device is Asus Zenfone max pro m1
Pls help....

Not totally sure, but it sounds like you have a bad charger.

About 5 or 6 years ago I had an HTC smartphone, and the HTC branded charger went bad because I noticed when I plugged the phone into the HTC charger, the phone got hot and started discharging.

My personal suggestion would simply throw away your the charger you have been using and buy a new one.

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen when you plug into a wall outlet, or into a portable battery? If the latter, make sure the port you're using on the battery is the output, not the input. I have a Samsung portable battery that has a USB-A and a USB-C port. The USB-C port is used exclusively as an input -- i.e., when I need to charge the battery back up, I plug the charging cable there, and connect it to a wall outlet. If you connect a phone that can reverse charge to a port like that, the phone will charge the battery, not vice-versa.
