Reverting back to 2.2

Sorry if this is a repeat but couldn't find the answer. I know it's a bit unconventional, but can you revert back to 2.2 from GB (unrooted Droid X)? If so, is there a link somewhere on how to do that and what needs to be backed up? Pretty much only need contacts which I can get from gmail and downloaded apps. Not much else used and don't mind setting up personalization again. Thanks for the help.
