Hey guys, I have a request that you add something to your reviews. Are you ready? Ok here goes.....
Signal Strength.
Yeah I know amazing but I would love to know what kind of reception some of these phones get before I buy them!
I am not talking anything exhaustive, just download one of the many signal apps from the app store (decide on one to use all the time so all reviews use the same one) and just add this tiny piece of unscientific data to your reviews. Or perhaps commission one of the signal strength app devs to build you one exclusive to AC that logs the signal strengths during your review period and gives you a average at the end. This is assuming that most devices would be tested in the same spot over time.
The reason I am asking for this is I live and spend a lot of time in what could be considered fringe reception. On a good day in the office I may get 1 bar of Edge. My office is actually on the leeward side of a hill and inside a cinderblock building to boot. Reception problems? You bet, and they get worse with phones that have poorer antenna or weaker signals.
So whaddya say guys how about reporting on the cellular signal capabilities of devices with the appropriate radios?
