Review Thread

Well, Ice Universe just claimed on Twitter that the Note 10 will almost certainly come with a single, smaller hole punch camera. I also read on Forbes that it'll come with UFS 3.0. Now all I need is a headphone jack with a HiFi quad DAC. Ugh, why, when I've already decided on the 10+?!

A few points

The Note is in a league of its own. I suggest by the note if you need to note not because it's got a single-camera and faster UFS speeds

Single hole sounds better for appearance but you're only getting one camera. Granted it's a selfie cam but a lot of people use that feature.

Will you notice the difference in UFS speeds?

While the LG Quad DAC is pretty good the Quad is part marketing. You can get great sound from the S10 by using a using a USB C to 3.5 DAC adapter. The best one I've heard without spending big bucks is the one made for Razar phones. It comes close enough to the LG sound and you don't need special headphones to make it work. Even the adaptive from Google or HTC do a great job. My point is don't limit your choices because of sound.

The anxiety is almost over.... My 1TB Black S10P has......SHIPPED!!!

That is true, I've heard that the Razer dongle is pretty damn good, and while it may be true, Forbes isn't exactly the go-to for all things tech. Also, the prospect of a camera in the S-Pen sounds rather creepy, if you ask me. Good points, all around.

The razor dongle is decent but so is imo the dac currently in the S9, nothing wrong with it at all and hopefully the s10 will be the same.

I don't find the S9 DAC that powerful if you like to crank up the volume so I'll say it depends on what you're listening with.

Would not disagree with that, your app player of choice also has an impact I think.

Doesn't it seem like there have been very reviews than usual? It usually feels like there are so many I can't read them all.

I hope the battery really is as good as everyone is saying. That's one area in which my iPhone outshines any Android phone I've ever had. And I am definitely not an iPhone lover...I much prefer Android. But I told my son & DIL that I would try one. I've had it for six months and am ready to go back to Android. :)

I too like Android better but I'm sporting an XS Max now.....battery life is way up there in the priority chain and these tests never bear out in reality. Ever since the 6 Plus the bigger iPhones have crushed the Android biggies in real world usage. I've owned the 6 Plus, Note 5, S8+ and now the Max. I'm over 5 hours SOT daily and that would typically empty the Android easily but with iPhone I'm still over 20%. I never have to use the the three or four wireless chargers I own. That said, I'll be looking at the Note 10 this fall.
