Rezound: just a Tbolt upgrade?

Great news! sounds like Verizon is finally realizing that the Tbolt is a faulty device (unless you've rooted it). glad to see I'm not the only "lucky one".

I just picked it up and I'm liking it but it drains battery faster then the Tbolt.

A couple of things I'd like help with.
1. Apps 2 SD

Observation: I take it that "phone storage" is the external SD card? If that is the case, some apps that I had on my Thunderbolt are no longer transferable in the Rezound.
Any solutions or is this normal for the Rezound?

2. Screen timeout.
Notice that my screen doesn't turn off even when I have the screen off settings on 30 seconds.
Solutions?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Just scooped it up yesterday and the first thing I noticed was the display quality. Def nice and much faster and ICS! Geez. Nice to have a phone that has it opposed to messing with it on a another phone. Smh. :)

To me, internal storage refers to /sdcard. On the Rezound, the external card is located at /sdcard/ext_sd.

That display time-out issue ... Do you have some app that might be trying to control the time-out? How long before the screen turns off?

Personally, my final solution would be a full factory reset. And, since I'd be doing that anyway, I would be flashing the global RUU twice. It is available at androidpolice. Maybe the reset will fix the time-out issue.

Actually, I would forget the RUU & just factory reset what you have now. Cuz, that phone might be going back to Verizon. :(

The phone screen doesn't ever turn off. No matter what I put the settings at.
Someone stated that I do an hboot factory reset.

Definitely. It will wipe your device clean; so, backup your pics, vids, etc. I would load each app one-by-one from the app store after the reset is finished.

In settings, turn off quick boot.
Pull out the battery.
Replace the battery.
Hold the volume down button while you press the power button to get to the HBOOTy screen.
It's been a while since I've seen the screen, but look for the factory reset option or something similar.

I would reset this way twice.

Why would it have to go back to VZ?

The Rez sucks a lot of juice. If screen time-out isn't working, that'd be good reason to return the device, imho.

I would still look for some app that might be running, and interfering with the time-out.

Current TB owner here. Finally convinced VZ to replace mine with a Rezound. When you went from the TB to the Rezound did you just use the same microsd card or did you need to wipe and start fresh? Any other suggestions for the "switch over"? Thanks in advance :)

August 2012 they sent it to me. Been great
Yes I remember. It was a good phone for awhile. Rezound is much better

sent from either my HTC Rezound or my Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet

I have used the same sdcard for 4 different phones now without a wipe. You can do it, but it isn't a necessity

Sent from my X-Band Modem... TY Genesis

Alright good to go. Did an Hboot on mine and now everything is working. Where is the VZ Backup Assistance
My SD card came with me to this phone.
