I currently have an erisand was due for an upgrade in September but wanted to wait because of the looming Iphone announcement. After being greatly disappointed I eagerly looked into the 3 most talked about android devices for Verizon. Here's why I'm having a hard time picking each one of these. The Rezound is the only one giving me doubts. It comes with 1.5ghz dual core and Dre Audio but is 300mhz a big enough difference to pick it over the others? I never really have been fond of Sense. With the Nexus I love it because the fact that its a Google Flagship device, meaning both Google and Samsung have worked hard in providing a high quality phone and that it ships with ICS. The Razr I am just in love with the form of it, the bump and the whole ruggedness has made it catch my attention. Also the Laptop docks would be amazing. What do you guys think I should get?

It just depends on what you want. The Razr will be the toughest phone from a physical standpoint. The Nexus will likely be the weakest. With the Nexus Prime, you are getting ICS out of the box. With both the Razr and Rezound, you will have to wait a bit for ICS. From the perspective of hardware, the order goes Rezound, Razr, Nexus in the order from best to worst.

Ultimately, I'd say the Rezound seems like the best overall purchase with the Razr only slightly behind. The Nexus has really hurt itself with developments such as a hugely outdated GPU, no gorilla glass, no expandable microSD card slot, PenTile screen, etc.

K, yea over the past few days ive been finding myself edging back to HTC even though I currently have an Eris that I despise, even though it is rooted :P the RAZR's removable battery is just a huge downer and the Nexus Prime's no SD card slot doesnt even seem like a good move by google or samsung. I guess I will have to wait a few more days for the announcement in NYC :P

Id say either Nexus or Rezound. Here the thing with the GPU and screen. None of us have seen the screen yet so we can't judge it. And the GPU really makes no difference. Its better than the RAZR and will run everything you want to date. I reccomened watching the AC podcast on the Nexus. Uncle Jerry explains things more in depth.

Which GPUs are better than the OMAP powerVR or whatever it's called at the higher clock rate? Just Mali on the Exynos and apple's CPU? how does the snapdragon on tmobile's GS2 compare?

I plan on getting the Galaxy Nexus and unless we are all surprised with a Nov 10th release date I will be able to see the reviews of the other phones including videos and maybe my own hands on before getting it. If you really don't know which one you want out of the three theniot makes no sense to get one right away with feeling all three out, they are all coming out with no more then two weeks between them.

#poll Need a new phone, my DX died, RAZR or Rezound until the Nexus comes out? twtpoll.com/1muox2

I just want to see what people think now that they have been available for a few days.

You are probably going to be happy with any of these three so put out of your mind any ideas of making the "wrong" decision.

That being said, the Rezound is the best phone internal specs wise. The Galaxy Nexus has the ICS which is compelling but the phone itself is kind of mediocre (not bad, but not really superior either). The RAZR has the compelling form factor and a relatively unobtrusive UI which will no doubt help in getting it ICS sooner. However the non removable battery is a MAJOR issue unless you work and spend time in places where you can always charge your phone.

You indicated you don't care much for Sense so if we set that one aside you have the other two and I then have to ask you how important is it to you that you get ICS ASSP and how bad would it be if you had to wait two months or so for ICS. If you can wait, and if the non removable battery doesn't bother you then the answer is clear: Get a RAZR. If not get the GNex.

Speaking for myself I have already bought the Rezound and no regrets. I have one more upgrade I can use and it will almost certainly go for the GNex. I have not completely ruled out getting a RAZR full retail but I am still mulling that over and looking at finances over the net month or so.

Im trying to decide between the Rezound or the Gnex....ill be switch to BigRed soon from T-Mobile, but im not sure which of these phones to get. I hate Motorola with a passion and will never even consider one of their devices. I have my reasons :) but that doesn't mean the RAZR isn't good...just my personal preference.

So Rezound or Gnex....hhhmmmmmm

Assuming rumors are true you should be able to visit a carrier store next weekend and try both out for yourself. Both phones are going to be really nice. I love my Rezound and agree with the consensus that performance wise it is what the TBolt should have been. GNexus will be a sweet phone too but given that it runs ICS you will run into a lot more force closes with apps than you are used to, What device do you use now?

My concern is all the lag that i have read about with the Rezound....im not a huge fan of Sense, and ICS looks very promising....i would expect some bugs right off the bat with ICS. Will the rezound be getting ICS?

I own a Rezound and I can assure you there is no "lag" in the device at all. In the app drawer it hesitates every page or so when scrolling but that is not lag that is just how HTC wrote the newer versions of Sense (Vivid is the same way). Half the people talking about lag in these devices are the same ones who hate all the skins/themes/whatever you call them and think in the back of their heads that these slow the phones down and then see lag where none exists. Go to the store yourself, power cycle the phone (turn it off then back on) and see for yourself.

Rezound will get ICS early next year. If you hate so called "lag" then you will absolutely dispise the force closes you get on apps on a phone running a totally new version of Android. Ask anyone who had one of the first (as in the first few weeks of release) Moto Droids (first phone with Android 2.0) or Xoom (first with Honeycomb) and they will tell you.It takes time for apps to be updated to work well with new versions of Android and by the time the Rezound, Razr, Bionic, etc. get ICS most apps will have had time to get tested and upgraded for ICS.

I have had my Rezound for three days and there has been no lag on it at all. As for ICS, the Rezound will be getting it too soon, so no worries.
