So if you don't already know, someone finally figured out a method to give the Rezound S-Off. The method has not been released, and probably won't until after the ICS OTA since they don't want to tip the exploit to HTC.

For those that aren't aware, HTC Dev unlock(what we have now) allows restricted access to the phone. Full S-Off allows access to the entire phone. There are benefits to both, however if you're a ROM'er like me I'm 99% sure that the ROMs developed after the exploit is released will require S-Off vs HTC Dev unlock.

After reading around, I'm pretty sure that S-off won't be available until AFTER ICS is pushed out. That way HTC or VZW doesn't know what the exploit is and fix it. I don't even have the phone in hand yet, but I intrigued.

Exactly, smart move, better safe than sorry. I'm sure they would plug that hole lickety split pre ICS.

i'm not in a hurry to get s-off since i am still under warranty, but one of my rezounds will be off warranty in July of this year, so i'd be willing to go for s-off if we have it by then.

I don't think the officialy ICS OTA is the reason, they're delaying. They are using it for a whole variety of HTC devices (Vivid, Rezound, Shooter, MT4GS). Testing for most of the devices is down, but not all. I think they're going to release once all the devices are deemed safe with the method.

By the way, I was one of the beta testers for the Rezound. :) I have s-off.;) You got any pics of your sister humpagardengnome?:p
