Ring and Nest app goes in to hibernation

After recent updates both these apps go in to hibernation or something like that immediately after closing them. Once closed no more notifications for ring app and nest Auto detection to change the thermostat to away or home doesn't work. This was a great phone and recent experience after updates is annoying. Any of you experiencing this? Any suggestions? Tried deleting data in these apps and reinstalled them too.
