B. Diddy, you nailed it. I booted into safe mode and the ring tones were back in the phone settings. Then I restarted and uninstalled the ES file explorer and everything is back to normal. Thanks to all of you.

That's great! Various file explorers can mess with this feature, so it's always best to have the system sound picker be the default.

In addition, DO Global, the company behind ES File Explorer, has been known for some shady practices, so it was a good idea to get rid of the app anyway. If you want a good and reliable file manager app, try Files by Google or Total Commander.

Can you copy phone settings to another device? If so, how. These are the ring tones that come with the phone not downloaded.

You can't manipulate the preinstalled ringtone files, since they're in a protected system directory. If you have custom tones, you can back those up.
