Ringing/notification through headphones

I know I used to be able to hear notification sounds and the phone ringing through the headphones but now it doesn't happen anymore. I can't seem to find any settings for this. The music would stop for a second or as long as the phone rings but if I don't know what's going on I could assume it's a streaming issue or signal loss.
Does anyone know where to find these controls?

You can try clearing cache through recovery and see if that helps.
