Ringtone sent via Text Issue

I created my own ringtone online through Myxer.com and they sent it to me via text message. When I open the message on my Droid Incredible I can play the music from the message. However, I can't see an option to "Save as Ringtone". I long-pressed the text message and hit "Save Audio". This saves it to my phone, but when I got to "Music" in the menu the file has a padlock symbol on it and it won't allow me to use it as a ringtone (still allows me to play it though). I did notice that at the end of the title of my file it has the letters "dm". Does this somehow prevent me from using this file as a ringtone? Is there a way of unlocking these kinds of audio files? Please help! I'm a newb!

Download astro from the market which is a free file manager application. The locate the file in sdcard>downloads and move it to a file (you need to create) called media on your sdcard and inside the media file create another file/folder called notification and place the ring tone in there. Reboot your phone then open you messages application and hit menu>notification and your new one should show up.

Re: Ringtone Sent Via Text

What if I don't have an SD Card? Is there a way to retrieve my ringtones without one?

You can also get ringdroid and that will turn it into a usable ringtone\notification for you.
