Ringtones on SD issue

Ok, so I created my ringtone folder on my SD card. media/audio/ringtones

When I go from my home screen into menu/settings/sound/phone ringtone - none of the ones I added are there, just the stock.

So I turned off the phone & rebooted. Went back into phone ringtone & thought it worked b/c I saw most of my songs. I was confused b/c they were listed twice.

Example:
Bad Romance - plays the stock ringtone I had previously chosen.
Bad Romance - plays the actual song

Then suddenly the program closed itself. When I went back in, all the ones I added are now gone again.


I will shut off & remove the SD & replace it, then reboot but I wanted to see if anyone else had this issue or can advise another route.

ok, after shutting down, pulling the card then rebooting....it seems to have worked.

ringtones listed 2 time under contacts app?

I'm seeing my downloaded ringtones listed twice under the contacts/options/ringtones?

any ideas why this is happening?

No idea on why'd they be doubled, unless it actually downloaded it twice.

As for the OP's issue, try taking the "media" and "audio" folders out of the equation- works the same.
