Roaming on the Hero

Hello Android Fans! I am thinking about an Android phone (Hero) for my next phone, but my main concern is the roaming. I don't get good Sprint service in the school I go to, but when I roam I can at least get one bar anywhere. The problem is that my phone now (LG Lotus) not only has a weak antenna in the school, but there is no option for roaming only and it won't roam by itself. I can use my old phone (Samsung M520) and it gets ok Sprint service, but when I roam with a roaming only option it works fine in the school. Does the Hero have a roaming only option or does it roam automatically when Sprint coverage isn't available or weaker than roaming coverage? Thanks! This will be a huge deciding factor in buying the phone or not.

There is an option in the settings for Sprint only or Automatic. I've been working at a job site that's out in the county and my roaming has been working very well. I usually only have 1-2 bars but voice and data still work very well. hope this helps.

Sprint has removed the "Roam only" from about every phone they currently launch. If you have to force it to roam to get coverage where you are, you might want to consider changing providers.

Thanks for the word on the good roaming. I can get good service when roaming. And I am not going to switch providers because Sprint is so cheap and has so many features, and I get good Sprint service everywhere else but the school.
