Robin's Motorola DROID Turbo 2 Thread

Re: Awesome review of DT2 on AC

The review was well-written except for the fact that everything he whined about isn't true.

But mostly that was nit picking, I love how in these reviews they never mention the radios, call quality the things that you pay monthly to work not everyone needs to have the best looking, best camera, or even the best screen.

Re: Awesome review of DT2 on AC

And all the nay-sayers all follow with their complaints about the nits, and don't, as you say, mention the things that you buy the phone for, that is how it works.

The reviewer was upset the phone released with Android 5.1.1. But the phone works great with Android 5.1.1. Why not review the phone for what it is and what it does, rather than some unfulfilled wish you have in your head (not talking to you, but to the reviewer)?

Re: AC didn't list Turbo 2 in their list

Easy answer why: it's a carrier exclusive.
Ahhh, so that's why it's a bad phone. I see. Forget the fact that it works better than some of the phones that made the list, Verizon is evil, so their phones aren't any good.

That's more rubbish, just like the crying about updates.

This is hands down the first Android phone I have had that didn't disappoint... My Nexus 6 was good but not great...sound quality in calls were sub par..and camera...well lets not go there.

Just like how OnePlus' invite system sometime keeps their phones off of "best-of" lists.

Re: Awesome review of DT2 on AC

I just read it and that is exactly my thoughts about it, everything just works that needs to work when you want it to work, you could nit pick the phone All day, but you cannot say the battery life and the way Motorola optimizes there features into Android are not near flawless.

But one could nit pick any device. Nothing is perfect. I'm digging the T2 for now and will wait for the next device to catch my eye.

Re: Awesome review of DT2 on AC

I would say it is a fair review.

Re: Doze app

Does the Doze app work? Does it save battery? Supposedly Doze in Android marshmallow works great to help standby battery life.

Re: Doze app

I am concerned that with advanced calling, on this will block phone calls or texts, when the screen is off.

Re: Doze app

Doze may be a new feature in Marshmallow, but I doubt that I will enable it.

Re: AC didn't list Turbo 2 in their list

I wouldn't have listed it there either unless they were doing ten or fifteen or so devices. I would list the Moto X Play and Style in the top ten list, but typically niche devices don't make the list (bizzare remakes of a different device, carrier variants of another device, etc).

My top ten looks something like this: Nexus 6p, Moto XPE, Galaxy Note 5, Nexus 5x, Sony Xperia Z5, Moto X Play, LG G4, , Nexus 6, Galaxy Note 4, HTC M9.

Where are the V10, A9, Priv, Turbo, etc? Good question, those device should probably mentioned somewhere, but none of them are mainstream consumer devices (yes I know I put some Nexus devices up there - because they're becoming acceptable as mainstream devices, and possibly the only option for secure devices) - they're weird things that are available for weird people - no offense if you're weird. :) What about the S6? Not as good as the Note 4, sorry. It probably is better than the M9, but being worse than the device you succeed and being handily beaten by your successor all within a matter of months gets you taken off the list. Sorry. Offense intended on that one. S6, you suck :p /rant
