Is anyone else having this issue? Everytime I make a call the other person will turn "robotic" and then the call fades. Then it comes back to normal, only to have it happen again. Whomever I'm talking to says that my voice does the same thing. I have Verizon as a carrier and live in Western Pennsylvania. My daughter has T-MOBILE and she has the same issue. My friend has Verizon and it happens to her daily also. I went into Verizon but they weren't very helpful. They did something to make the phone find closer towers but it didn't help. It's very frustrating! Anyone else?

Are the calls on Wi-Fi calling and do you use Bluetooth headphones?
No I don't use WiFi calling or headphones. Just regular calls. I have an S21, my friend has an S20 and my daughter has a One plus, so it doesn't seem like it's a Samsung issue. It's happened when I talk to people who have iPhones.

So only iPhone users and you think.its from their end ?

I should have said "iPhones too" . Meaning it doesn't seem like an Android issue.
Im not sure you can do anything about it if its their end.

Can try safe mode , see if its still happens, just to rule out your side or even reset network in settings>general management>reset>reset network

Is your cell signal strong when this happens? If it's only 1-2 bars, then it's probably a signal issue.

Does it happen if you do use wi-fi calling?

I'll try the reset. Thank you!

It happens no matter where I am. Good signal, bad signal, it doesn't play favorites!

I realize that you don't use wi-fi calling, but I'm just wondering if the robotic sound glitch still happens on wi-fi calling (assuming that's even available to you on your phone and your carrier). If it doesn't happen on wi-fi calling, then I would guess the problem has to do with poor or erratic cell signal strength. Wi-fi calling could get around that.

I know my daughter uses it. She sounds robotic when I talk to her when she's not on WiFi calling. Verizon is supposed to be the best. It's just very frustrating when you pay for a service and it's not provided. I'm thinking it's a Verizon issue!

Try those 2 things i mentioned so we can rule them out

Ok -- but what you just described could still be consistent with a cell signal issue (since you said she sounds robotic when she's NOT on wi-fi calling).

Try turning on wi-fi calling when making or receiving calls in areas where you notice the robotic sound glitch, and let us know if the problem still happens.

BTW, Verizon certainly emphasizes that it has the broadest US coverage (which is still generally true), but even then, there can be specific areas where coverage is not great. Even in the heart of the Silicon Valley, where I live, there are areas where Verizon signal is poor. This can be due to a number of reasons, including inadequate cell tower coverage, high bandwidth usage (i.e., lots of people on the network at the same time), and even what materials the building that you're in is made from.

I used WiFi calling today and it seems to be ok on it. So I'm assuming Verizon is not as good as it used to be!?!

Has Verizon been historically good in your area? As I mentioned previously, reception might not be as good if there's a lot of network traffic in your area.

About 15 years ago it was bad. Then they updated their towers and it's been pretty good until recently. Until 5G it seems. We now have these 5G phones but they haven't brought 5G to our area. We're having dropped calls, calls that don't even go thru and these robotic issues.

Today Verizon had me go in and get a new Sims card. It didn't work. Still robotic if I'm not on WiFi calling. I don't get 5g where I am. I should buy I don't.
